Ahhh they extended the 5 weeks we got at start of the year by another 5 weeks I completely forgot about thatMr Rush wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 21:00Okay, I was keeping track up to the summer, then took my eye off the ball, but now I think I've got this right...
MON 04/09/23 high season for 15 weeks to SAT 16/12/23
FT 24x5x15 = +1800mins, PT 10x5x15 = +750mins
balance FT +1800mins (+30hrs), PT +750mins (+12:30hrs)
MON 22/01/24 low season for 5 weeks to SAT 24/02/24 and extended for 5 weeks to SAT 23/03/24
FT -24x5x10 = -1200mins, PT -10x5x10 = -500mins
balance FT +600mins (+10hrs), PT +250mins (+4:10hrs)
MON 17/06/24 low season for 11 weeks to SAT 31/08/24
FT -24x5x11 = -1320mins, PT -10x5x11 = -550mins
balance FT -720mins (-12hrs), PT -300mins (-5hrs)
MON 18/11/24 high season for 5 weeks to SAT 21/12/24
FT 24x5x5 = +600mins, PT 10x5x5 = +250mins
Balance at the end of December should be in the company's favour: FT -120mins (-2hrs), PT -50mins.
I just hope no-one on night shift has an aneurysm trying to calculate this with daylight savings taken into account.

Well said matepostslippete wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 18:20Royal Mail don't care how constant changes affects their employees. By overloading us with continual change staff often react by withdrawing and become less engaged. Everything is constantly being micro-managed and brought up in daily huddles by managers and it leads to cynicism, low morale, higher stress levels and burnout.
While at the same time they're spouting off about ''Family Friendly Hours'' and ''Mental Health''. In our ''Huddles'' (they take less time than a proper WTLL session, hence more time for YOU to deliver) we are often pulled up for making ''Negative Comments'' or not being 'Willing to accept new working practices'' FFS.
The points you make are very valid and even at this early stage a lot of staff are simply switching off over the whole Christmas Drama.

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
It doesn't really matter when the letters arrive as they can be parked and sorted the next morning, as long as the tracked have arrived all is good in delivery office world.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 07:08Still won't make any dispatches go out any earlier. If anything I can see the wave 2 dispatches going out later as we're bound to start getting over a double stackers worth of mail coming in each night soon. With the changes to outward dispatches when it comes down to it we'll have to give priority to the 2C outward as we don't have a later run any more It might mean the wave 2 has to go our later. If there's not very much available to go out to the DOs, then RM aren't going to waste fuel, they'll just hold the mail back until there's enough mail to make it worth doing the run to the DOsRTP wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 21:30Clearly some offices are still doing ok and MC staff don't have a clue and don't give a damn about what is going on in other offices if that is the mindset.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 13:28Dispatch times won't be changing so what's the point in DOs starting earlier? If they're going to make the days longer in DOs then they should make the finishes laterkazardaimenu wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 11:2824 mins earlier from next week but that might not be possible for all and we’ll probably end up waiting on mail to arrive from the Mc anyway.

Maybe you should all just work a little bit harder in the MC?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Nov 2024, 07:08

10% on the last wagon is a joke now. More letters on the last wave than all the rest. We get a tiny bundle that's sequenced and the rest has to be manually sorted. Why is this SP?.

The high season starts next week and finishes the week before Christmas so 5 weeks in total.
It is time we owe them.
This part of seasonal variation was only ever meant to be added to the start of shifts so absolutely no one should have it added at the
How is it time we owe them, in have contacted the cwu and royal mail , still awaiting a reply from both .

Probably the CSS is running over and has missed the wave 1 dispatch. Is the tiny bundle of sequenced and the rest wave 1 or wave 2? Wave 2 is meant to be walk sort only.
Some mech misses the cut-off point to be sorted on the iLSMs/IMPs to batch level and so just gets sorted to office level only

Has your local MC stopped sending any mech for wave 2? If they haven't, have they gone back to sequencing it?ted_e_bear wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 10:04Wave 2 stopped being walksort months ago here why is it even the little fundamental things differ around the country.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑15 Nov 2024, 07:12Probably the CSS is running over and has missed the wave 1 dispatch.
