The high season starts next week and finishes the week before Christmas so 5 weeks in total.

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
You need people in earlier during this period due the huge volumes that need IPS. By the time the last lorry rolls in we have to be pretty much up to date on IPS & prep otherwise we won’t ever get out. 28 or so full time staff doing an extra 24 minutes sorting helps get people out at a more reasonable time. Once an office becomes overwhelmed with mail still to be sorted plus another lot rolling off the lorry the whole office morale goes through the floor with everyone adopting the attitude of “we’re never gonna get out today”. The more time that’s added to the front of the duties the better it is all round.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 19:33Not extra time, just the earlier start time added to the end not the beginning of the shift as you won't get the lorry in any earlier than the summer.
By the way what happened to the much vaulted only 10% of mail on the last lorry!!!!!!!

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
That's down to when it arrives at the MC. Our last lorry is meant to be just a dozen yorks but we can often end up getting a full up double stacker.
Can't wait for both inward and 2C outward to be snowed under. They done away with our later 2C run so the 2C will have to take priority over the inward if both the inward and 2C outward are in the s**t

We would be doing the 24 mins on the street they would lapse us to fill the extra time at the end,end of the day the agreement was 24 mins in the morning that's their problem if there's no work for us.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 19:33Not extra time, just the earlier start time added to the end not the beginning of the shift as you won't get the lorry in any earlier than the summer.

Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
Okay, I was keeping track up to the summer, then took my eye off the ball, but now I think I've got this right...
MON 04/09/23 high season for 15 weeks to SAT 16/12/23
FT 24x5x15 = +1800mins, PT 10x5x15 = +750mins
balance FT +1800mins (+30hrs), PT +750mins (+12:30hrs)
MON 22/01/24 low season for 5 weeks to SAT 24/02/24 and extended for 5 weeks to SAT 23/03/24
FT -24x5x10 = -1200mins, PT -10x5x10 = -500mins
balance FT +600mins (+10hrs), PT +250mins (+4:10hrs)
MON 17/06/24 low season for 11 weeks to SAT 31/08/24
FT -24x5x11 = -1320mins, PT -10x5x11 = -550mins
balance FT -720mins (-12hrs), PT -300mins (-5hrs)
MON 18/11/24 high season for 5 weeks to SAT 21/12/24
FT 24x5x5 = +600mins, PT 10x5x5 = +250mins
Balance at the end of December should be in the company's favour: FT -120mins (-2hrs), PT -50mins.
I just hope no-one on night shift has an aneurysm trying to calculate this with daylight savings taken into account.

Clearly some offices are still doing ok and MC staff don't have a clue and don't give a damn about what is going on in other offices if that is the mindset.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 13:28Dispatch times won't be changing so what's the point in DOs starting earlier? Re: Seasonal hours change 18th Nov
Still won't make any dispatches go out any earlier. If anything I can see the wave 2 dispatches going out later as we're bound to start getting over a double stackers worth of mail coming in each night soon. With the changes to outward dispatches when it comes down to it we'll have to give priority to the 2C outward as we don't have a later run any more It might mean the wave 2 has to go our later. If there's not very much available to go out to the DOs, then RM aren't going to waste fuel, they'll just hold the mail back until there's enough mail to make it worth doing the run to the DOsRTP wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 21:30Clearly some offices are still doing ok and MC staff don't have a clue and don't give a damn about what is going on in other offices if that is the mindset.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 13:28Dispatch times won't be changing so what's the point in DOs starting earlier? I consider myself fortunate to work the same 40 hours and same steady shift pattern all year round.

Ok . I can in 24 minutes earlier . What am I meant to be doing? More sorting or is it more time to prep D2Ds and throw in walk?
