I import lots of items regularly from the USA and when they reach the UK they all go through the same process which I am familiar with.
I’ve recently bought something from Sweden (a fidget toy) and what I’m usually used to has not happened.
It arrived in the UK just before Midday on Thursday 22nd August and the Royal Mail Tracking showed 3 simultaneous actions (with the same time) which were:
Item at UK customs LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom
Item Received LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom
Item Received Heathrow International LC
Despite not then saying “ Item has left our International Processing Centre LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom”, which it usually does, the main part of the tracking at this point said:
We've got it. We expect to deliver it on Friday 23 August 2024 between 9:20am - 11:20am
We have your item and it's on its way. More information will be available as it travels through our network.
Before I left for work on that Friday I checked Royal Mail Tracking again and it had changed to exclude the date of delivery, just saying:
We've got it. We normally expect to deliver to your address between 9:20am - 11:20am
We have your item and it's on its way. More information will be available as it travels through our network.
The package never arrived and when I checked Royal Mail Tracking again on Saturday 24th August it had changed again, now not showing the estimated times of delivery either and just reading:
We've got it.
We have your item and it's on its way. More information will be available as it travels through our network.
Has it even left Heathrow International LC yet? Has it got lost? Is something else happening?
I always assumed that once it was in the hands of Royal Mail that it had passed through customs etc so should be a straightforward delivery but this has not happened.
Any insight or help would be gratefully received, Thanks
