How can the sender despatch the item *after* it is ready to be delivered in Derby today? Scanning error? This supposed to be tracked 24.

without a tracking number to check on other sites its difficult to say with any certainty but this could be just a case of the system updating the senders data late, or it was corrupted in some manner.
But from what you posted apart for the senders status everything seems to be progressing fine.

If the sender is using "Click & Drop" for postage then it ca update the tracking status as shown here - there is an option on the site to mark a purchased postage label as sent which then updates the tracking. I imagine in this case that the sender has done so the morning after posting it.
