Item Showing as "Item Despatched to Corby DO" since 30/4/2022

Good morning,

On Friday, I paid for a next day guaranteed delivery on my passport to be sent to the Passport Office in order to renew my passport and since Saturday morning, the status has been stuck at "Item Despatched to Corby DO".

I was wanting to know the likelihood of where my item actually is and any advice for what steps I can take (if any) to locate my item.

Thank you for any help.

It's likely to be in the Passport office. There are HUGE delays in the Passport service at the moment, and it always takes a few days for Royal Mail track and trace system to update for them, mainly because they receive so many.

Check out other posts in this area of the board, it's a common problem, but 99.9% of the time everything turns out oaky.

Thank you for your reply. I was mostly concerned because it was still showing as "in transit" and not updated to have arrived at the Corby DO - I hadn't realised that the Passport Office backlong would impact on the Royal Mail tracking too.

There still hasn't been any update on this item since the last update at 04:48 on 30/4/2022.

The tracking reference is: NE061770237GB

Should I start looking into a claim and contact the passport office?

Hi , I know this is years later but wondering if you had any further progress. Did you have to report it as lost? I’m in the same predicament and is very concerned.
