According to LinkedIn he’s on the digital advisory board at Coca Cola. Looking through he’s previous employment history it’s unbelievable he got the job as Royal Mail CEO.

Heard he’d opened a bar in San Antonio Ibiza and was DJ on Fridays Saturdays
Nah I've just seen him on bargain loving brits doing an Elvis act in Benidorm :chuckle

At the end of the day Thompson was only the front man taking orders from Keith Williams the chairman who’s still there. Break the cwu & the workforce job done.
Exactly this. He was just the well paid stooge at the time. Somebody else would have done the job if he didn’t. It’s how business works I’m afraid.

I think you're right, the chairman of the board is the real puppet master. I remember the chief finance director got double thompsons salary, 1.2 million in a year, paid the shareholders then f**cked off. Thompson gave it large though, ended up with security guards, but in the end dumped like they do with acting managers all the time.

Aye, for cooking...sorry compiling the accounts, Mick Jeavons made £1,339,000 in total compensation as Group Chief Financial Officer at Royal Mail in 2022. £726,000 was received as total cash, £541,000 received as equity and £72,000 as pension
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Privatisation of utilities and essential services never has a happy ending.

Unfortunately, you are correct. Just fill our rivers/seafronts with shite, run our public transport, kill our postal service, end public health services into the ground.

Why has Simon Thompson not been replaced yet? (It was October 2023 he departed)
Has the role been scrapped to save money?

Certainly, the CWU may look at the appointments with interest, having cautiously welcomed the appointment of Martin Seidenberg. Saying “We also await with interest, the forthcoming appointment of the Royal Mail CEO“
I’ve Dave Fraud might be getting his job as he has experience of shafting posties

A name I'm looking forward to seeing in the obituary column of the FT, along with many others: Tory MPs, CEOs of water companies etc... :cuppa

I wish he'd wipe that bloody Ribena stain from around his chops

Henry V111 was the founder of Royal Mail over 500 years ago, you can guarantee if he was alive today....that slimy little piece of s**t would be hacked to pieces!

Absolute Wa*ker of a man.
