Hopefully you'll never need his union help, if someone asks why you have so many photos of other people's work on your private phone,
Why would I need his or his union’s help? I have a voice and a brain of my own.

Furthermore, we all have a duty to protect the integrity of the mail, and finding mail insecure on a doorstep is something I must Speak Up about, no? I would have retrieved the doorstepped item and brought it back had the customer not arrived almost at the same time as me.

(FYI, it is perfectly legal to take photos in a public place, especially when you tell the person whose house it is that you’re doing so!. And do you call that doorstepping “work”??)
Personally no I wouldn't grass anyone, but that's me, you knock yourself out
Me either.. the jobs shitty enough without grasses in the workplace.
And the job is shitty enough without playground bullies too! So better get used to it. If the old guard want to play around with matches (aka new starters) then they ought to be prepared to get burnt.
We had an episode last week whereby guy in the transport office decided to get lairy with one of the new starter lads and offered to “take him outside”, whereupon transport guy promptly ended up on his fat arse - in front of his mates! He started it but couldn’t finish it. Although said new starter has sadly now gone, big guy in the transport office is no longer playing tricks with us. My own “non-violent resistance” (Google Gandhi) is taking a firm but fair stand against all forms of disrespect etc.

i have given birth to three children = I am definitely a woman! What kind of creature are you?

And for clarity, no, I joined this forum from when I got made a permanent employee, not “when ‘she’ 1st started”. I “1st started” about 11 months prior to becoming permanent.

Thats a great story but workplace grasses are lowlifes in my opinion,i personally would have brought it up about the guys doorstepping in front of his mates and brought him down a peg or two its much better than running into the managers office like a school girl telling tales.

Because any of that happened...

Given how widely read this forum is it would be easy to corroborate given the very specific set of circumstances. Anyone aware of this fight taking place?

Once we have figured this out it would be pretty easy to verify any of the other claims you have made. Anyone aware of a new starter grassing up the union rep lately at this office?

If you have any evidence that RM aren’t losing money, please provide it, because there is nothing to dispute this. When was the last time you were paid a dividend as a shareholder?

Thanks for your reply and I get what you saying but what Royal Mail are doing is deliberate. I've already given you the facts that the group had retained earnings of £3.8 billion last year and our liquidity has also increased from £1.7 billion to over £2 billion last time I checked the financial accounts. Put simply, there is money in this company and we are not going bust anytime soon.

I remember when Leighton and Crozier said that Royal Mail were losing a million pounds a day and the next year we made over £400 million in operating profit. Quite the turnaround, and if everything goes to plan given the deal I have no absolutely no doubt that we will be even more profitable in the foreseeable. But what is really holding Royal Mail back is their agenda to reduce the USO, and until we do, they may still keep posting losses/breaking even, using creative accounting to suit this narrative. They did this with the 'billion pound' loss with impairment charges that were not related to the daily operations. Don't forget that Royal Mail have spent millions building these super-hubs as well and this is an investment for our future. The CWU have already drawn their line in the sand by advocating a 5 day mail week and whilst no Union wants less jobs, it goes somewhere to help realign what the company wants. They certainly don't want a 3 day mail service as that's far too much, too soon.

It's not just about shareholder dividends as some of our big time investors are in this for the long haul. There is a reason why Kretinsky keeps upping his stake in our company and I believe it's because there is plenty of profit to be made in our company in the long run. They have seen how profitable GLS can be delivering parcels and they want Royal Mail to follow a similar gig economy model. Ever since Covid they have seen how deprioritising letters has been very profitable and they are desperate to get rid of the heavy millstone hanging over their necks with the USO.

These are my thoughts and clearly you have a different opinion, so we may have to agree to disagree, but I have no doubts that Royal Mail is profitable and that IDS do indeed cross-subsidise like most companies do. We actually bought the company with our past profits in 1999 when it was German Parcels and they have been spending millions in Europe with these hubs.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Hey Smoothbackground, WTF! I am so disappointed, I imagined you as like a super strong 💪 smart, formidable woman, you can do what the felllas do, but your values are pretty low. I mean your willing to show a stranger your lady parts, not even on a first date. Your just like the other gals on my estate, I hope your children don't read this . How am I going to sleep tonight 😴

Your facade seems to be falling apart smoothbackground. It seems you are nothing but a bitter charlatan and a workplace grass to boot.

I feel sorry for your kids.
