That’s just madness, what’s going on with this company, what about SD’s , it’s difficult enough to get to the far flung places for 13:00 as it is , without the disadvantage of being an hour later. Has anyone thought any of this through.
Common sense would suggest SD's are just made next day rather than by 1pm, the 9am's will be interesting if some offices move to a 8:30am start time!!
9am SDs are very rare anyway. When I last worked in our locker, you'd get at most normally about half a dozen of them

In the past fortnight we have found at least 5 (that I saw, and I work in one section out of 6) "special 9am" packets just mixed in with the sleeves of small tracked, so I don't think anyone cares!

Did you used to work in the locker at a DO? Because we used to have about half a dozen a day at my DO alone. Never mind the other 40 odd DO's that the local MC dispatched to.

How does moving your meal relief mean you can finish earlier?
Is it even legal

Apparently having your meal relief while there's dead time between waves 1 and 2 means you can finish earlier

Every night we find SDs mixed in with the normal packets. We even find the odd one in the mech as well. Tracked and normal packets tend to arrive at the MC mixed together, probably by MCs that have got packet sorting machines.

In the MC. It was very rare for most of the DOs to get one. You'd get a few nights where there weren't any 9am's at all

That's strange. Like I said in my old DO we used to get 20/30 a week minimum. And that's just a single DO of many within the local MCs area.

Mostly letters to banks etc, but a fair few parcels/letters for private addresses also.

Is your MC not located in a city or something?

The MC is located in a large town. The banks never used to get much, think most of their mail probably gets sent to their big offices in London. If the foreign specials ever were to go back to going through as Tracked, it would probably at least halve the volume of work in the locker.

This is completely unacceptable. You have let us down badly. Congratulations on colluding with RM and giving them carte blanch to do whatever the hell they like.

The members are the union - so what you are saying is the members sold themselves out.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Indeed. I voted NO and I'm still bitter and angry about it! Lol
The deed is done however and now we face the consequences.
