So working shorter days right now has led to a union pile on , nobody has said what the problem is with it yet .All I’m hearing is doom mongering about what Royal Mail will or won’t do next .

Cos we’ll have to pay it back at Xmas

But that’s how it worked last Xmas , and that’s what we voted for , there’s nothing new here .

Yes there is - they extended the earlier finishes it was supposed to be from may to september
then they came up with this 5 weeks - now its been extended again
Who knows they could keep this going on and on

It’s no big drama , we have some serious moaners in this job , I see it every day in my office , some of you need to get in the real world with bigger issues.

Your working conditions, pay and security haven’t changed with this announcement of a change to the variation but you keep fearing the worst if that’s what you want to do .

But we're all working 24 mins a day less if it continues until peak why's that an issue for us, or would you sooner we worked 24 mins longer each day?

I also don't believe the creation and extension of this new low season has anything to do with actual mail volumes and everything to do with manipulating the balance sheet in time for April. RM will now be carrying 8 weeks less worth of debt owed to staff.

You can't do that. It will have to be shown as a short-term liability.
