Re: RMCtv : Seasonal variation low season extension joint communication
Have you all forgot originally RM wanted a 44 hr week around the busy period, only difference now is they have our Union on their side! Complete capitulation allowing anything the company wants, laughing stock and I seriously don't know how they have the nerve to keep preaching this bullshit to us.

Re: RMCtv : Seasonal variation low season extension joint communication
Now children no need to start fighting amongst yourself, we are meant to be on the same side.
I think the main point to take from the present statement is the unions inability to change RM and its continuing with its policy of "here's what's happening" and "what are you going to do about it".
The union have lost any control of how RM implement any policy it can dream up simply because they can't use the one weapon we had, industrial action, they can't use it for fear of losing a ballot for it or nobody supporting it and just going into work.
Sometimes you reap what you sow and looking back i fancy my thoughts at the time were possibly right and we should have took them on, but democracy spoke and members voted to accept. I have no issue with that but this is the outcome, a toothless complicate union who agree with the company just to keep themselves "in the room".
At the moment i can see no way out of this short of IA but as i already mentioned there are problems with that.
From the unions point of view it needs to have either a top to bottom clear out or a change of thinking or face what you were scared of in the first place, complete and utter distruction from RM and the membership abandoning you.
I could be wrong but i fancy i am not.

Re: RMCtv : Seasonal variation low season extension joint communication
The union lost all control when they went quiet after xmas last year and we heard nothing until they put a (s**t) watered down deal to its members and as soon as the members realised the union was siding on team royal mail they voted yes just to get the money, and that was the end of the cwu in royal mail as we know it,they have blown the only bargaining chip a union has ever had, the right to strike, for all the bravado coming out of Ward and walsh's mouth its over they no longer have any impact on the way Royal Mail treats its workers or how they go about their business.scotchy1962 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2024, 08:30Now children no need to start fighting amongst yourself, we are meant to be on the same side.

So working shorter days right now has led to a union pile on , nobody has said what the problem is with it yet .All I’m hearing is doom mongering about what Royal Mail will or won’t do next .

Open your eyes, our contracts are now meaningless, thanks to ward,Walsh and the others.chickenwittle wrote: ↑15 Feb 2024, 16:05So working shorter days right now has led to a union pile on , nobody has said what the problem is with it yet .All I’m hearing is doom mongering about what Royal Mail will or won’t do next .
They are actually shameless to even still be making out that they have a say in what goes on.
Walsh & ward send Royal Mail a “strongly worded” letter and Ricky mc just scrunches it up and lobs it straight in

Re: RMCtv : Seasonal variation low season extension joint communication
Think you'll find it's no pile on, it's a simple fact as to why we are where we are. A lot of people rightly don't trust RM so believe any mad theory going on line.chickenwittle wrote: ↑15 Feb 2024, 16:05So working shorter days right now has led to a union pile on , nobody has said what the problem is with it yet .All I’m hearing is doom mongering about what Royal Mail will or won’t do next .
I guess we will find out with time, but when the union back up what they are peddling we should take notice and are entitled to be wary.
I must have a look back through the agreement and see what it says on seasonal variations as it appears that it is annualised hours under another guise.
On the other hand do i really want to lose hours of my life?

Re: RMCtv : Seasonal variation low season extension joint communication
Thought i would just have a read of the joint statement again, it appears that no matter what RM say (We are going bust, losing a million a day, etc) they just take it as gospel and go along with it, really not much of a plan for the future for us workers, as they represent us and not themselves or at least that is what they are supposed to do, why not at least consult members or their reps before agreeing.
I wouldn't believe what they tell you about workload, it has to be achievable in the first place to make it when mail and parcels are supposedly down.
I mean i try not to give the union a kicking, but they really leave themselves wide open to it.
Do what we pay you to do and represent us, the worker, first and maybe the exodus will stop.
