earlier start times for new contracts

The new contract posties have now been told they need to start 30 mins earlier than the older contract employees because they don't get paid for their breaks,how the hell was this ever allowed to happen,our union have a lot to answer for ,they are suppose to stand up for fairness for all how on earth are they ever going to get new subscriptions,the way the union were complicit in the post office scandal now paints a picture of why they sold us out.

Yes they are still having their breaks with us but not getting paid so have to make that time up by coming in early,they have to take their break by law,but they finish at the same time as us,the whole thing is a disgrace.

Watch yourselves Royal mail have a habit of clawing money back,so dont be surprised in the future you get a hefty bill.

I'm not a new starter but if I was I'd say I'm not taking a break so I'm not doing 30 minutes for nothing, I'd be loading the van etc whilst the other person had their break, I'm pretty sure a quick break could be had on delivery?

They are not working 30 mins for nothing , they should be taking a 30 minutes unpaid break. Royal Mail has a legal obligation to provide them with the time to take that break.

Ok, so if their shift is for sake of argument 8am until 3pm theres a break in there unpaid? They are getting paid for a 6hr 30 min shift? 30 min break unpaid, if they come in 30 min early they are working for nothing? So RM have fxxkt up and trying to con new starters
