Local Collect no longer a thing?

Post by WASD »

Ex postie here, i left in August 2022. This company has reached an impossible low i feel. I get the impression it's worse than when i was leaving bags of parcels, flats and D2Ds yet still claiming O/T and asked to lapse still.

Tracked 24. In short no local collect attempted, supposedly attempted to my house, no 739 left, i am baffled. My guess is PO closes early on Weds. Emails don't use tracking numbers so can't tell what's what. After another request i am unsure if it's coming here or there.

PO website offers DPD and Evri above RM services. Mental. Parcel Force offer zero delivery times, just a day, and no reschedule options. Again, baffling. When's the modernisation happening? :arrrghhh

Oh yay, RM successfully ignored the request to deliver to Post Office, again. At least this time a 739 was left. I know the request went through as an auto redelivery didn't happen Thursday after the initial attempt Wednesday. I requested Local Collect for today Friday as that was the earliest i could. Also i have the email confirming the Post Office delivery.

Baffling.

Edit.
So the delivery office said that Local Collect is still available but the system hadn't registered my request.

Happened again sadly. Item came through letterbox as it fits nicely enough, but due to that there's some minor damage from the item hitting the floor as it's heavy.

I used the bring my label service as well recently, or tried to. Large Letter Tracked 48 appear exempt.

Really can't see RM having a future with other companies gaining more ground each year.

Are you sure that the PO accepts local collect? Not all do.

Also, is the PO in the same postcode area as your address? E.g. if your home is in BS1 then the PO is also in BS1.

Apologies for delay in responding.

Yeah the PO accepts parcels still, i had previous and after this there. The PO is same postcode.

I dunno, RM seems hell bent on screwing everyone over.

I now have my parcels sent to Argos/Sainsburys (a good toilet stop for postie as it's inside next door to it), or my parents house. Though will be getting a secure box to help also. I cba with messing the postie or myself about.

Is it the address of the PO branch or your own address on the address label?

It was always my own address listed as the delivery point. The request to deliver to local collect was done via the website tracking as normal. Normally there would be a local collect label stuck on there (from a previous experience it working and what we used to do at the depot i worked at)
