What happens in Customs at Langley?

As we have some experts on this board, I thought you might have some ideas on this question?

As a huge volume of the queries here relate to items probably in Customs at Langley/HWDC, does anyone know how things work there? Is it lots of people or lots of conveyor belts, automated scans and mail moving all over the place constantly?

Has anyone actually been inside that can shed some light on what it's like?

... and to the board admin, thanks, you really do a great job. It's so difficult to get information from RM or PF when things aren't working out, you actually shed some helpful light on what might be happening - and nobody likes delayed or lost mail, but at least we all feel less singled out when there's other's in the same situation.
