Hi there,

I ordered something from the US nearly a month ago now and I've been tracking to see what's been going on.

It started moving through the USPS network and had a US tracking number on the 8th of September, and quickly got to the UK on the 14th and changed to a GB tracking number with Royal Mail.

Since the 14th, it's been at Heathrow International LC and the item was sent to customs for investigation on the 16th.

The contents value is $90 and the contents are nothing to be worried about. I'm guessing just a random check?

I reached out to Royal Mail on twitter, however they just stated what I already knew, that it was held at customs.

I've not seen any movement since, no fees to pay card, nothing. Should I be concerned?

Also would like to note, as my local office is short staffed at the moment with parcels getting priority over letters, so a "fee to pay" card could be on the way slowly but not here yet (as I didn't receive any birthday cards last week also :sad: ).

It is in customs at the moment, there is nothing that you or RM can do about that and no way to get information. It has been there longer than normal. It could be a random check or there might be a reason why customs might need to check the contents. What exactly is in there?

Looking at the tracking on that I don't think it has yet got into RMs hands https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/WB680876149GB

Also coming from the US an individual parcel does not need to change its tracking number as it can be tracked through our systems.

What I think is happening is that its a bulk order and your item has been assigned a tracking number for when they break the bulk order down. This happens fairly regularly for items from China.

It may be worth contacting the sender just to double-check.
