Update from yesterday I had another phone call from my manager now they are going down the route of offering ( covered conversion) this is to bypass IHR, looking at figures quoted it is not far of IHR am I missing something here? if they are offering nearly as much as IHR why put extra stress on yourself,also is it a cynical way of doing away with IHR does seem very weird that the union knows s**t all about this or do they?, the reduction to 16 weeks in the pay agreement has brought ( covered conversions) to the front of any conversation about leaving the business.before I get shot down YES you do get taxed on what you are offered has anyone else had one of these conversations?.

I said taxed on what RM offered do you know what a covered conversion is, as nobody answered my post directly I'll take it not many postie's even know it exists, by the way I am going through the process now I'll post when I get more info from HR and manager.

Did slightly misread what you had written. Not sure what this new covered conversion method is though. I left through IHR two weeks and it was never mentioned. So are you saying this other method they are offering is all taxed? Or is it basically the same if you were to do it via OH?
Covered conversation ( some manager's call it closed conversation) it's always been there nothing new, if you can't get IHR for one reason or another and you are still sending in sick notes they will pay you off, it's all cloak and dagger stuff manager's cannot disclose the conversation to anyone else but you! not even the so called union.
it is totally confidential if word got out how much you were being offered head's would roll ,it's between you the manager and a anonymous person at HR .
You will get taxed on everything they offer, I'm waiting to see what they offer me.

I'm also quite keen to understand the pension aspect of IHR. There appears to be two different IHR categories "IHR with Lump Sum" and "IHR with immediate pension" (if deemed unable to work permanently in the next 10 years or before normal retirement - whichever comes sooner). The information on the people app would lead me to believe that the former pays out your lump sum and no pension benefits - is that correct?

Fact of the matter is RM are not abiding by any agreements with the CWU so what is the point till the regulation of our industry and for that matter the regulation of labour in our nation by the government. And enforced by said government and fines and bans on directors and CEO CFO and Chairman/women of company's nothing is worth but a piece of paper!
Hi can anyone tell me what happened when they got to the stage of RM trying to find them work in a different location. Did you turn it down and if so what was the outcome? did they offer you IHZr I’m at that stage now where they are trying to find me suitable employment in a city centre Mail centre.

I think they call it scoping. I’ve known a few people to take IHR including myself and they’ve never found any other suitable work within the business. Think it’s just something they have to do to show they’ve tried but in reality I think at that point they just want rid of you.
Don't forget as of the 17th September royal mail have changed oh provider, not sure whether this is a good thing or bad has anyone had a referral to them yet, all I know is royal mail are really stretching things out I've been told a load of manure for ages ( there not giving IHR anymore) (they have only suspended it for now) these people cannot lie straight in bed.
It'll be a bad thing them changing OH provider, they are only doing it in the hope the new group won't side with the employee as much as the current crowd. They want them to overrule the employee/employee GP more.
