Hello,
I hope you are all well.
For the past 2 weeks, we haven’t received letters in my postcode (W1H). At first I thought it was my letter that got lost somehow, but I requested another letter to be sent again on a different day and that hasn’t showed up either. Both were normal envelopes with first class stamps. The first one sent on the 22nd of August and the second one on the 29th. These were both sent from London to London.
Since the 22nd I also noticed that we haven’t received any regular post in my building. We have, however, received some big parcels. Just now (Saturday) I saw a RM van in my street, but they didn’t seem to carry regular post either.
I guess my question would be, what are the chances of 2 letters being lost vs maybe something is happening at my DO? Is it possible is understaffed or the postie is on leave? Is it normal to have these long hiatuses in post deliveries, especially in central London?
The reason why I am so stressed about these letters is because they carry my electricity cards to top up my home.
Thanks so much in advance for your help and your insight.

A few years ago, when I lived in outer London, the exact pattern you describe would happen every couple of months. As far as I can tell, when our regular postie was on annual leave or there was no cover. Parcels arrived in dribs and drabs while he was off, when he came back all the letters would arrive in one go, sometimes a fortnight's worth.Nyotengu wrote: ↑02 Sep 2023, 12:37Since the 22nd I also noticed that we haven’t received any regular post in my building. Thank you, I really appreciate your insight. Hopefully this week the envelopes arrive so it doesn’t mean they’ve been lost!
