I have received the latest tracking information :
Departed. Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND on August 28, 2023 at 7:04 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

Parcel coming from US to UK, the item is a motorbike helmet.
Can anyone shed any light on what is now happening ? I was getting updates every 12 hours and now they have stopped with the above update. Its now been 4 days without any update. I have tried contacting USPS where the parcel is coming from and RM but they both say they can't help.

An adult motorcycle helmet *might* be over Royal Mail's size limit, in which case it will probably be carried by Parcelforce within the UK.
Parcelforce often apply their own barcode sticker to inbound international parcels, occasionally this doesn't get linked to the tracking record properly, causing a gap in the tracking.

I have spoken to parcel force and they have stated that the parcel is with RM.
RM are saying the parcel is with USPS
USPS are saying it's with RM
it looks like the parcel is in a black hole and no one knows where it is any more

USPS are known for scanning items as you posted above when they are actually in Customs awaiting clearance.
I think that's what has happened to your parcel.
If so, there is no way of contacting customs that we know about, but keep an eye on tracking at http://parcelsapp.com/en . As soon as RM scan it delivery should happen reasonably quickly

How long does customs clearance take ?
I had something else delivered from the US and it was delivered in 8 days and flew through customs, the same item infact and the same type of shipping. Just seems strange how long it's taking either no movement

Customs choose random batches of mail for extra checks. Probably one of the items is in a batch chosen for extra checks
