Hi, I hope someone can help. If a 2nd Class large letter item is showing as delivered with the GPS coordinates as confirmation, what is the likelihood that it wasn't actually delivered? Does the item usually get scanned immediately before it's posted through the letterbox? I have an eBay buyer claiming that she hasn't received her item, yet the tracking page shows that it was delivered by Dagenham DO on 12th August.
Is there a possibility that it might have gone back to the delivery office in this scenario? I don't see why it would as it's just a large letter which should easily fit through a letterbox, but just trying to think through all the possibilities.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: Item showing as delivered, but recipient claiming it wasn't
From the info you've given, and the GPS co-ords are good, IMHO I'd say it's been delivered.
The only scenario(s) I can think where the postie might have scanned it as being delivered (before actually posting it through
the letterbox) but it then didn't go through the letterbox are if there's a 'dog cage' behind the letterbox or there's a wall mounted
box at the property which the item wouldn't fit in. In either scenario a 739 card should have been left saying we'd try to deliver again the
next day. If it couldn't be delivered the next day (due to same cirucmstances) then it is up to the recipient to rearrange collection/delivery
using the details on the 739 card.

By my understanding very rare it saying delivered and it’s not. Had a few people say not delivered but when shown tracking said it has.
As you said it was on eBay let the buyer take it to the stage after buyer seller resolution and ask eBay to step in as long as you upload tracking and it’s has shown as delivered they will side with you as the seller and any refund won’t be out of your pocket or effect your seller status.

Thank you both for the information, very handy to know for future reference! In the end the buyer discovered that she had accidentally put it in her recycling bin.
It's so handy getting delivery confirmation now for things like this as I would have had to fork out for it not so long ago!
