In for a penny
Once again got told that the business is in dire straits and we need to save cash as the pot has dried up. Instead of saving pounds it's pennies now (scraping at the barrel).
Got asked if WE can come up with any ideas or solutions on how to make the business more efficient. Many said we don't get paid enough to come up with brainstorming idea's. If the business is in such a state then that's not our fault, but the people that are running this show. We all come in to work get the job done then go home. Everything else within the workplace is of no interest.

Re: In for a penny
More "efficient" or more "profitable"? I'll assume the latter.
However, if the business really did want to be more efficient it could. Like yorks where the base raises slight as you remove packets/parcels from it and the weight reduces so you save time and your back reaching for the next one...some sort of revolutionary, yet to be invented spring mechanism perhaps? Sorry, guess I'm dreaming a york like that could ever exist and be kept in service.
Changes will always cost money to implement and hence will probably not be adopted hence why we will generally roll our eyes at mentioning anything that occurs to us that actually do the job.

1000s are being sent back damaged & unlikely to be repaired.
Another fine idea from some spotty newly graduated student out to impress

Re: In for a penny
weve had several explode parcels all over the floor, its comical. Thats just the weight, without thinking of the ones that are torn and ripped apart at the sidesJb1969 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2023, 21:00From what I have seen the new sleeves are a disaster.ruckus wrote: ↑15 Aug 2023, 20:53More "efficient" or more "profitable"? Re: In for a penny
Our rep has told us today that the Company states their 'financial situation will hit crisis point in September'. Remind me when the lump sums are due again? They will therefore be appealing to Ofcom to cease mail delivery on Saturdays. It would come in by October. Apparently they don't have to go to Govt if they are in a financial emergency, only Ofcom.
"Just take it out and see how you go......."

Re: In for a penny
I would imagine there is more than enough money in the escrow to pay both lump sums. I wouldn’t think that was under threat.
