It might be specific to my office, but we always have nights on rota over Christmas and there is little IPS to be done in the morning when the normal shift starts. Might be why.
Think every office is different we haven't had night's for at least 10 year's maybe more.

How will Seasonal variations affect holiday (hours) deductions? Our holidays are in hours these days (converted to weekly hours) but there will now be a possibility of taking 35, 37 or 39 hours depending when the annual leave takes place.

* Also, what about days off overtime payments?

How is day off overtime paid in your office - is it a one size fits all; that is, 7hrs and 24mins regardless of long or short days?

When working a 39 hours week; some days will actually be about 8:30 hours; more than 1 hour over the average 7:24hr...

** I get being paid the same 37 hours all year round but there will be situations where it will be unfair. If you resign or retire during a full calendar year - will they make adjustments to align actual hours worked with pay?

You get more leave off if you book most of your weeks off in summer. I remember Royal Mail mentioning this that staff would get more time off in summer and it would suit the business as this is when we are less busy anyway

As for overtime, I imagine that if you're working 8 hours, you get paid for 8 hours. I don't think the business is going to have a seasonal variation of overtime where if you're on 39 hours and you work a day off, you only get paid the hours for that day as if it were a 35 hour week. You wouldn't do it would you!!

That's not what you said though or what you meant or even the context of the discussion we were having.

We were talking about what managers are attempting to do now.

Ours is the same it’s 14min at the beginning for full timers and 10min at the end for part timers and full timers

So part timers just 10min extra (at the end of the day) and full timers 24min extra split between starting 14min earlier and finishing 10min later
This is obviously not what is being said in the email.

What email are we talking about? The 50-point joint statement above doesn’t say it has to be at the beginning of your duty, unless I missed it when scanning through it.

If this is something that RM are changing from the agreement, it is significant as it means even later finishes than they have announced, come next March.

* One should not do it; in all honesty... However, presently, my office pays the same numbers of hours (7:24 for ft) regardless of days; when Monday, Tuesdays and Saturdays are shorter days... Laziness, I suppose but I doubt folks will be working 8:30 and getting 7:24 when the seasonal variation starts.

So nice SISO, we should all be paid for hours worked; as we are not allowed to sign out early but some managers, hey? They must be saving money giving that they give more overtimes on wed, Thurs and Friday and Saturday, of course

Point 30 on the Q&A actually address the point about leaving the business and adjustments made as to if hours are owed or outstanding...

I am sure that the original agreement says that the 24 mins for the autumn period goes before the start of the duty , it was in the Annex. Again I think Martín Walsh confirmed this in the podcast the other week .

Yes, I might be wrong but I’m sure it was stated somewhere that for the first year all of the extra time will be before you go out on delivery.
