Don't need them? Of course we f***ing don't need them!
Are there no early starters in your office?
I thought you were referring to people coming in early on overtime.
We have them.
Ah my apologies for snapping.
I meant the work for free rush around types.
We've got both, the paid ones except Mon/tues, we don't really need them currently it just creates a false earlier out on delivery time, but maybe that's the plan, plus it only fuels the start early for free mob and we most definitely don't need those f***ers.
Was told today that our seasonal hours start September and it will be 14 mins before start of duty and 10mins at the end.
I was under the impression that the 24 mins was at the start of the duty.

That's right. It's (supposed to be) at the start.
As Woody said it's a National Standard. Have your managers gone rogue and looked in their crystal balls and decided there
won't be enough work between wave 1 and 2 and so have added 10 at the end?
Ours is the same it’s 14min at the beginning for full timers and 10min at the end for part timers and full timers
So part timers just 10min extra (at the end of the day) and full timers 24min extra split between starting 14min earlier and finishing 10min later
So why is your rep allowing your manager to break Royal Mail's own national standard rules?
It states clearly that this cannot be unit led and all offices must follow the guidelines set out in the agreement, that's not the union saying this it's Royal Mail.
HQ gets a lot of stick on here but if offices are going to roll over this easily what chance do any of us have?
People constantly start working early anyway. I can see why offices are trying it on and trying to add it to the end of the duty as there is always more work to be done then, be it LATs or rounds that haven’t been covered etc. There is very rarely any work that needs doing in the morning in our office, even with being short staffed.
How will the ips get done when day short by another 24 mins?.
RM expect you to work faster
I'm working slower they will need more than 24 mins at the pace im working at,when they give me an inflation pay rise and what the job is worth i may speed up on saying that if they dont re introduce conditions ill have to go slower to protect myself from injury and ill health,i mean its 2023 not 1823.

The timing of arrivals from the MC will also play a part. No point in having staff in earlier if there isn't the work for them to do
Has anyone had it confirmed what is the start date for the autumn seasonal variations the agreement states week 24 which is w/c 11 September but our office is saying it will start 4th September?
