Proof of delivery other than tracking link

Post by Mathieu77 »

Hello,

I am facing a situation. A package was sent to Amazon, they claim not to have it even though the tracking link shows that they have. They are asking for a "proper communication by the carrier" to prove it was delivered at the address. How could I do that?

Is there any way to prove that the shipping label is authentic? Like the QR Code of the Tracked48 delivery starting by JGB could be used anywhere to get the delivery address to prove that the label I sent them as proof is authentic?

Regards

The phrase “tracking link” is a potential red herring here, the “link” part of that having no legal status.

So, starting from the top, did Amazon send you a pre-paid label or did you pay for this yourself?

If the latter, then some subsidiary questions:

1. Do you have a certificate of posting with a tracking number on it?
2. Ignoring any links, if you go to Royal Mail’s website and put the tracking number into their track & trace tool, does the item show as delivered?

Hello,

Thanks for you answer.

I work in a company. A third party sent one package to the wrong fulfilment center alongside with another which was supposed to go there. So basically:

1. Do you have a certificate of posting with a tracking number on it?
I do no think we would have that. We have the shipping label for sure yes

2. Ignoring any links, if you go to Royal Mail’s website and put the tracking number into their track & trace tool, does the item show as delivered?
Yes, if I use the track & trace tool, it is shown as delivered with a picture.
As mention above, another package was shipped the same day to that same center. The entire delivery journey is similar, even the picture is the same. All time code are within a 8 minutes timeframe to each others

Thanks for the time taken

A long time ago, when I worked for the Post Office, Royal Mail used to be able to send a proof of delivery for certain services for a small fee. It might be worth asking Royal Mail if that service still exists.

However, Royal Mail should only really deal with their customer, who is the sender. And it doesn’t sound like you are the sender?

Worth trying and ask our provider if not possible as well.

Well, lucky enough, after a forth time explaining to amazon that they can't just claim that Royal Mail tracking system is broken they accepted that they received the package but can't find it anymore. Sending the shipping label must have helped I guess

I'm thankful for your help

Have a great day
