Re: RMCtv : Zareena Brown : Attendance changes
No Union involvement because the RTWs are now informal so no entitlement.
Why the **** would any trade union allow this to happen.
Farce.

Nobody is screaming because we were all paying attention.
This was coming in on the 1st August regardless of the outcome of the vote.

Quite obvious that some on here didn’t pay attention. It was getting changed regardless what the union says. Just another way the company saves money and that’s all they’re concerned about.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 16:13Nobody is screaming because we were all paying attention.

It was getting changed regardless of the union because royal mail just tells the union we're doing this now by the way.As the cwu has no power to stop anything.derekm wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 16:18Quite obvious that some on here didn’t pay attention. Re: RMCtv : Zareena Brown : Attendance changes
These changes were going to be introduced regardless of an agreement according to Martin Walsh. They gave RM 90 days notice or something.
It's interesting that the business now puts a positive spin on it to suggest that it was always part of the agreement that we voted for. In other words if we voted NO, they wouldn't have brought these changes in?

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Seems reading that August 1 everyone automatically on new procedure so check what sick you may have had in the past 12 months.
If you exceed 2 instances or 11 days you will trigger a stage.

Well to be fair some people, including yourself, didnt realise Ricky McAuley confirmed that we are now not being paid for first few days of second absence. They thought, and many still think, that we are still being paid for those days - just a bit less.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 16:13Nobody is screaming because we were all paying attention.

Those people werent paying attention.
I still dont know how RM intended to change our sick pay terms on 1st August if there was no agreement - changing the stage threshold I understand how they can do what they want with that - but not how they can just decide to stop paying us. I thought things like would pose some difficulty for them without the employee's agreement. Either they couldnt really and it was just a bluff to the union, or they couldnt really and the union knew it but went along with the line that they were going to impose it anyway to help secure an agreement and because they agreed with RM that theres too many pisstakers and something has to give.
Or of course, as I suspect you will tell me, they did it because they can.
In which case what is the purpose of our contracts? Is there anything stopping them giving notice that all sick pay is stopping as of January 1st 2024? Whats the difference? What is actually protected?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
