Is there anyone left that actually gives two monkeys what the result is? The times they are a changing regardless.

Re: Result prediction thread
Cwu incapable of holding a legal ballot, so rm will take them to court given the 97.1% who voted no.

Re: Result prediction thread
I think YES will prevail. It’ll be close though…
But if it’s a NO it gives the CWU a chance, perhaps, to win back a bit of faith from its members. If it’s a NO the union must be stronger than they have been.

Although Pogacar looks strong, i am not fussed on him, bit like some people i know he has a attitude problem.
On the vote i could see a Yes win and a low turn out, but no matter how it goes the result won't be good for us.
I just fancy a NO to piss RM and the union off and see how brave they really are. Not as brave as me i fancy.

Re: Result prediction thread
Is there a certain threshold that has to be met? I know there is for a strike ballot but I take it there isn't one for this type of vote.

This is a vote on a pay deal not a bloody strike ballotSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:4770% for NO.
If the result is a NO vote and the turnout is low, I can see RM challenging the result in court

Do you honestly believe that RM would never challenged the vote outcome in court if it wa a NO vote and the turnout was low?k979aaa wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:56This is a vote on a pay deal not a bloody strike ballotSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:4770% for NO.

It wouldn't be challenged as it's quite clear that royal mail don't want or need this or any other agreement.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:59Do you honestly believe that RM would never challenged the vote outcome in court if it wa a NO vote and the turnout was low?k979aaa wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:56This is a vote on a pay deal not a bloody strike ballotSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:4770% for NO.

Re: Result prediction thread
The strength of the union with regards to negotiations comes directly from the membership and what they are willing to sacrifice in order to win concessions, that willingness to sacrifice has been eroded almost to the point of non-existenceFilthyBloke wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 18:51I think YES will prevail. I'm not sure under the circumstances how we could be anything other than in a weaker position than when we started so effectively we would be trying to negotiate a better deal from a worse position... or basically begging I suppose.
If someone could explain how that isn't the case I'm willing to listen.

If this has just one vote in favour it will carry the question on the ballot paper regardless of the turnout.richj2009 wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 20:08It wouldn't be challenged as it's quite clear that royal mail don't want or need this or any other agreement.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:59Do you honestly believe that RM would never challenged the vote outcome in court if it wa a NO vote and the turnout was low?k979aaa wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:56This is a vote on a pay deal not a bloody strike ballotSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 19:4770% for NO.

As to RM they could not give a flying f**k as they have just done today with the customer service points and what next is in the line?
Sorry for venting off on here but this is the start of the end of Royal Mail!
