Signed For Delivery Questions

1. What happens to a Signed For letter if the recipient refuses to sign for it?
2. If the recipient refuses to sign, is there any proof of this available?

(Recipient & sender are both in the same UK town)

I was expecting that there might be something like that, but there doesn't appear to be a category anything like that listed here.

Would there be any point in me going and asking at the delivery office?

They are the most common terms, the list is not exhaustive.
Refused is an option on our PDA.

That would be if someone at the address answers the door and tells the postie that they are refusing it? In practice though, the addressee might refuse to answer the door to RM staff, then it would be the old red card through the door routine.

Yes.
There is another possible scenario.
Although the postie isn't supposed to hand over the item before obtaining the signature, it is possible that they handed it over to the recipient who kept it but refused to sign for it.
It would have to be scanned as Delivered without signature (DWS) and a manager informed at some point - but none of that would be clear from the tracking information.
