Re: Have to vote No
Then as the union, I'm advising a no vote and also demanding a share in any wages paid out to the union decision-makers.
I'm turning purple!

Re: Have to vote No
I see Simon Thompson is getting a £700,000 golden goodbye out of all this....gettin his payment for doing exactly what he was brought in to do. Seems like pure provocation to me....i couldnt have voted yes even if i wanted to.

The first part is fine, as ill-conceived an idea as it might be, but I don’t have a clue what the second half of that post is about.

Re: Have to vote No
We are understaffed as is, and today 2 decent workers were sent home to 'cool off'. On Saturday they were taken off their own duty 2 cover another pair. They ended up taking the parcels as they didnt know it, and early sat finish. Manager came out to them on duty demanding to know why they didnt take any mail. nasty tactics, if you vote yes you say you are ok with it

How can you blame the agreement for a problem you are having today? Explain to me the thinking on that one. It isn’t even functioning yet.dazzler123 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2023, 17:21We are understaffed as is, and today 2 decent workers were sent home to 'cool off'. Re: Have to vote No
I’d love to have been able to cast my vote. However I haven’t had a ballot paper yet. I can only guess that because I am currently on six months career break that I’m not eligible for a vote. So I’ve paid subscriptions for 14 years. But now because I’m not earning and therefore not contributing to the cwu I don’t get a vote. Very poor.

Re: Have to vote No
They are hardly going to treat staff better if a no vote is returned. Even less union involvement in that case.dazzler123 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2023, 18:25Because its indicative how they are happy to treat staff nowLouBarlow wrote: ↑03 Jul 2023, 18:02How can you blame the agreement for a problem you are having today? Re: Have to vote No
Where you been for the last 12 months davey?
A huge part of this dispute has been about trying to remove union influence in the workplace, they've tore up agreements, stopped release, dismissed reps, given notice on check off and employed union busting consultants from the US.
The agreement restores all that and gives the union and therefore the membership some input in the inevitable changes that are coming our way.
A no vote means we are back to square one, in fact I would say square minus one because in their eyes Royal Mail have just wasted 12 months trying to reach an agreement and they won't and can't waste any more time.
In my humble opinion if this deal is rejected those on the board who never really wanted a deal in the first place will take control, they'll say the "doves" have had their chance and failed so it's time to go down a different path.
It is not going to be pretty...
