Issue with T24

Post by Beyond_Puzzled »

Hi,
I made an order online, with delivery by Tracked 24 service. It was dispatched Friday morning and I recieved a package next morning (Saturday) but when I opened it, i found it contained only half of my order so contacted the seller assuming they had made a mistake. They explained they had split the order between two packages and provided the tracking code for the package that hasn't arrived.
I have checked the tracking for the package that arrived and the one that did not, they were both sent at the same time (by the same seller) and as I said, i recieved one on time but the other hasn't even been properly scanned into Royal Mail and hasn't progressed through the network.
How is it possible that can happen when it's the same seller dispatching both packages at the same time and place? It seems absolutely crazy.
Any ideas what's going on?
P. S I checked the service updates in case of delays in transport or relevant mail centres etc and there were none...
Thanks

Jus because they are sent by the same service at the same time don't mean that they go in the same sack. And different sacks can end up on different lorries etc etc

Not your problem anyway. If it doesn't arrive in the stated time then it is the seller's legal responsibility to make it good with you.

Thank you for your response👍
Its [delay] has caused me some minor disruption but it's not to much of an issue, im aware of the sellers responsibility but appreciate you pointing that out regardless.
It was more about how the two identical packages (in both size as well as actually sent together at same time) could have such a wildly different path from each other - it just didn't seem possible to me but given your explanation I can see there is potential for it to happen even if it's more on the unlikely side surely.

Thanks again & take care

Could well be just the first package went into a sack, that sack was then full so the second package went into a new sack

The whole order in 1 package may have avoided this scenario.

Indeed, but that was out of the OP’s hands!

You don't say what the latest status of the missing parcel is. Time / location of the scan. What is the location of the parcel on the last scan? It could be that the item is stuck in a sleave, not having been emptied properly. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this does happen sometimes.
I perform parcel delivery duties and I can tell you now that sometimes they are not sorted to the correct area. The other week I found a parcel for G33. Glasgow area, and I don't even work in Scotland.

UPDATE

Finally recieved package today (Fri 30th) which is 7 days after being sent. After the tracking not even showing they had it/took possession up until last night, when the tracking suddenly updated, although having missed a couple of steps, and showed it was moving up the country and delivered this morning as said.

Thanks again for any & all replies and insight
