They cant push the seasonal hours without change of contract they are banking on a yes vote for collective bargaining where the majority agrees to the change, legally they have to pay you for the hours worked not in 8 months time,it would be brave for them to push forward without the yes vote because they would be in breach of contract, the union are not telling you this because they dont want the hassle of what happens next,i urge everyone to think hard on voting yes as once you do your signing all your rights away the CWU wont tell you this.Thejennster wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 14:12They're gunna push through the changes regardless of the vote

Seems the delays and apathy are winning the day at the moment.guardianangel wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 16:04They cant push the seasonal hours without change of contract they are banking on a yes vote for collective bargaining where the majority agrees to the change, legally they have to pay you for the hours worked not in 8 months time,it would be brave for them to push forward without the yes vote because they would be in breach of contract, the union are not telling you this because they dont want the hassle of what happens next,i urge everyone to think hard on voting yes as once you do your signing all your rights away the CWU wont tell you this.Thejennster wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 14:12They're gunna push through the changes regardless of the vote
For a pittance of a taxed lump sum
Absolutely nothing in this deal is on the side of the employee, but many are getting ground down and are just going to accept it
What a shame

Because what alternatives are there a yes is s**t but is better than a black hole of who knows, vote no and then have no one putting at least the breaks on a bit.X_hamster wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 17:00Seems the delays and apathy are winning the day at the moment.guardianangel wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 16:04They cant push the seasonal hours without change of contract they are banking on a yes vote for collective bargaining where the majority agrees to the change, legally they have to pay you for the hours worked not in 8 months time,it would be brave for them to push forward without the yes vote because they would be in breach of contract, the union are not telling you this because they dont want the hassle of what happens next,i urge everyone to think hard on voting yes as once you do your signing all your rights away the CWU wont tell you this.Thejennster wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 14:12They're gunna push through the changes regardless of the vote

I'm still not convinced.....we have collective bargaining and legally an agreement with the CWU is for everyone. That agreement is already there signed by the top table and ratified by the PEC. The ballot is nothing more than admin (from a legal perspective).thefox wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 16:33Exactly thisguardianangel wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 16:04They cant push the seasonal hours without change of contract they are banking on a yes vote for collective bargaining where the majority agrees to the change, legally they have to pay you for the hours worked not in 8 months time,it would be brave for them to push forward without the yes vote because they would be in breach of contract, the union are not telling you this because they dont want the hassle of what happens next,i urge everyone to think hard on voting yes as once you do your signing all your rights away the CWU wont tell you this.Thejennster wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 14:12They're gunna push through the changes regardless of the vote

The extra carrot of around £900 isn't payable until September iirc.
So you're not getting £1400 taxable bonus you'll get £400 taxable and then have to wait until they've sorted out the extra £900ish.
Still a NO from me.This deal smells worse than Billingsgate market on a hot summers day.

You obviously don’t have many friends or know that many people thenBoltonian-White wrote: ↑19 Jun 2023, 15:17Most people I know are voting yes.
Sick of the dispute. Take the lump sum and look for something else.
Dragged on long enough.
Through the last 20 years whenever there's a dispute the terms and conditions have been eroded.
No way around it, that's the way the business is going. If you've been in long enough then you'll have witnessed it. Good times are over
