Implications on mail after the UK's exit from the EU

Heathrow Customs

My parcel sent from China has been stuck in UK customs since the 27th of may. Normally the customs released the items in one day based on my previous experience.. but this time the tracking shows ‘clearing customs’ for a few days now. Should I be worried? Or should I just wait? Has anyone had the same issue with me? Thanks!

I have noticed that anything through Heathrow customs that require a charge to be applied is taking around 21 to 28 days to get to the MC in our area.

‘Clearing customs’ isn't something that would appear on Royal Mail tracking. Does your tracking number have GB as it's last two characters, by any chance?

It does appear now occasionally on tracking of RM items so it looks like RM are trying to eventually get scans when they hand stuff over to customs (my guess is by scanning the container/bag) and when items are released by customs

Thank you all for replying! The status is now updated to ‘released from customs’. I think the Chinese courier company is in charge of the previous shipping from China to the UK and the next step is for Royal Mail to pick up the parcel and deliver to me in the UK. But no updates since been released from custom. I guess I could only wait for it to be processed. Hopefully it’s not lost :d'oh!
