I've nothing against immigration as we do need immigrants. But what hasn't been mentioned are the social consequences of mass uncontrolled immigration and that is something the "world famous universities" have not mentioned. The impact on our infrastructure and public services, the NHS and the ever growing demand for new housing.
And theres an effect on jobs and wages. The migration advisory committee looked at the effects of immigration on jobs and found that between 1995-2010 there was a displacement of 160,000 workers. That's about how many workers are currently employed in Royal Mail.
For more workers competing for a limited number of low skilled jobs there is evidence that the result is lower wages. The dreaded gig economy is coming to a royal mail office near you.

I'm sorry you find this difficult to understand but it doesn't matter if you are an immigrant or not, collectively as a Country we spend Billions more every month than we take in tax.
Do you think having an open border is going to make us rich as all of these immigrants on minimum wage are going to pay for all the new infrastructure such housing,schools,roads and hospitals?
You do know that there is a huge difference between a legal immigrant who has completed all of the necessary documents and ones that have arrived here illegally?

Never said that immigrants are ruining the Country nor do I have anything against anybody coming here legally.
If pointing out that we don't have the money or resources to cope with them makes me an idiot then so be it .
I agree with everything you say, however it's the same billionaires that want immigration that are conning everyone else into believing that immigrants are ruining the country.
They want immigration but they also want a scapegoat - to keep working people fighting amongst themselves (including those from abroad) instead of going after them.
The Tories said Brexit would let us take back control of our borders, and then let in more immigrants than ever. They say and do complete opposites and people fall for it.
The fact is however that we need immigration because we have an aging population. We can't function without it, and there's enough money to house and fees them - especially since the average immigrant pays in more than they take when compared to a British person - just like there's enough money to pay for hospitals, schools and wages for the rest of us. It's called taxing the rich, who have stolen trillions from the working population over the last 50 years.

According to the government’s latest review on immigration, by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), immigrants contribute more to the public purse on average than native-born Britons do. Moreover, European newcomers are the most lucrative group among them. The MAC reckons that each additional migrant from the European Economic Area (EEA) will make a total contribution to the public purse of approximately £78,000 over his or her lifetime (in 2017 prices). Last year, the average adult migrant from the EEA yielded £2,370 ($3,000) more for the Treasury than the average British-born adult did. Even so, the MAC recommended refining the current immigration system to remove the cap on high-skilled migrants and also said that no special treatment should be given to EU citizens.
With Britain’s population ageing, the country could do with an influx of younger members to its labour force.
And already this is proven true considering we have no workers to pick fruit or do the jobs that migrants would have done before people like milly made them feel unwelcome here.
