Re: Jesus Christ
I don’t understand how you find it strange that there’s mistrust between the workforce and the business, surely you must see what’s been reneged on in the past? I see us working hours in the winter and then the goalpost being shifted in the summer, clear as dayMartin Walsh wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 13:54I was also on the call today and did not see it the way you did and have been to unit reps this morning and going to anther this afternoon and another different one tomorrow morning I think sometimes on here and social media you can get into a bubble.
The majority of our members do not go anywhere near social media in discussions over work.
Dave and Andy confirmed that all local reps were released to attend a face to face meeting where all their questions would be answered as the meeting was on scheduled for 30 to 40 minutes.
This issue with seasonal variations is strange and shows the mistrust in the business. The start of seasonal variations had to start at some stage and the union did not believe it should have start in June because we want to carry out a pilot to see if it works and also for it to work the uso and quality of service needs to be restored.
I don’t ever hear people on wallington duties complaining that they have to work an 37 hours over 5 weeks before they get their Wally week.
This belief that everyone balances their hours in a week is most not the case unless you don’t have longs and shorts or a shorter Saturday or unless you have a fixed rest day.

Martin please can you confirm/deny that the amount that Royal Mail pay for senior reps full time release is now staying the same and subs will continue to come directly out of wagesMartin Walsh wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 13:54I was also on the call today and did not see it the way you did and have been to unit reps this morning and going to anther this afternoon and another different one tomorrow morning I think sometimes on here and social media you can get into a bubble.

Re: Jesus Christ
Why the f**k do you need a pilot trial to see if 2 hours less per week works or not ?

Re: Jesus Christ
We don't. Already the USO is failing all over the place due to bullshit revisions and oversized going back on walks and absence not being covered. Will cutting the hours by 2 a week make these walks achievable?ted_e_bear wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 16:15Why the f**k do you need a pilot trial to see if 2 hours less per week works or not ?

Re: Jesus Christ
So if the USO and quality of service are unachievable in the summer are RM going to just forget about trying to do the "seasonal variations", actually sounds like a piece of classical music, what do you think Martin will they backtrack!Martin Walsh wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 13:54I was also on the call today and did not see it the way you did and have been to unit reps this morning and going to anther this afternoon and another different one tomorrow morning I think sometimes on here and social media you can get into a bubble.

I can answer it for you if you wish.
You are trying very hard to sell essentially what we have been fighting against since the start. So call it what it is and let us vote and the majority will decide. Or drag it out for as long as possible and hope to bore people into voting the way you would like.

Re: Jesus Christ
How in the hell are you comparing seasonal hours to Wally weeks Martin
Firstly it’s a choice to have a Wally week, if you sign for a new duty it has a Wally week allocated so the majority of the time you don’t have to do a full cycle to begin with. We will be working giving Royal Mail time in hand and it’s months before we get it back. Madness

How are RM going to ensure the USO and quality of service are going to be restored?Martin Walsh wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 13:54at some stage and the union did not believe it should have start in June because we want to carry out a pilot to see if it works and also for it to work the uso and quality of service needs to be restored.
Unless they actually address the brutal revisions they have imposed and (god forbid) put duties back in, the only way either of the above are restored will be having the USO reduced and quality of service lowered

Re: Jesus Christ
Was there any comments in today’s meeting about how this deal effects Mail Centres across the country ?

Re: Jesus Christ
and who will be deciding if the USO has been restored, Royal Mail by any chance? now on even a Mon/Tues half of our duty isnt delivered, and now we are delivering yesterdays packets on the chance they will be in, even thought they havnt asked for it. The only way this works to clear is going hours over your time or flipping frames each day

Re: Jesus Christ
Its been the plan all along, make the walks far too long, June the new hubs switch on, all the larger parcels revert to later times in the dedicated parcels offices, reduce the indoor time by 30 mins and now everyone on delivery has a 5-6 hour delivery just doing mail. Cant fill the back shift/LAT duties in the hubs with our own staff so need to get agency/owner drivers....pinstripe wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 16:36How are RM going to ensure the USO and quality of service are going to be restored?Martin Walsh wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 13:54at some stage and the union did not believe it should have start in June because we want to carry out a pilot to see if it works and also for it to work the uso and quality of service needs to be restored.

Re: Jesus Christ
We will be working longer this winter
Then the later starts will come in, in March 2024 and so when we get our “early finishes” next summer - our finish time will still be later than it is this summer
Great deal that

Re: Jesus Christ
You can't compare a Wallington week or a 9 day fortnight duty to this longer Winter hours fiasco, our Annual leave year is April to April, we're getting shafted for annual leave this year, you're also asking us to work a 39 hour week for no extra pay, nothing should start before week one of 2024.
We're getting ripped off massively here.
