how union could get us a better lump sum than 500 pounds
with the poor pay of £500 only for us with no backdated pay, why don't the union do a deal with royal mail, could get us £1500 lump sum and back dated pay if we shut down the callers offices, royal mail would make savings that way. Lets face it the posties are doing everything now plus the callers work, not many parcels brought back today for the 2nd attempt shows u their is no need for the callers, so union could use this as leeway to get us a better deal, since theirs no use for callers now

The rep in my office said this morning there may well be a bigger lump sum offer coming up to seal the deal so to speak .
Whether or not it's true who knows.

I think he said a bigger lump might be coming up to explain the deal.
He meant the Divisional Rep.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

If this deal comes In then 6 per cent will be back dated from 1st April.

Here we go, cue for more wildfire rumours spreading, even MW got in on the act dangling a carrot on another thread.
If it's genuine this should come as an official announcement from RM or CWU (or jointly)!:

Heard the same this morning. Must be worried about a NO vote if their going to offer a bigger lump sum.
Also indicates We are being played if they can find more Money.
When will they find their Best & Final offer, when it's a big No and they have to start talking seriously!!!!

Martin Walsh this morning made a similar hint on here... It was also briefly mentioned at the Area reps meeting in Birmingham last week...yellowbelly wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 16:21Here we go, cue for more wildfire rumours spreading, even MW got in on the act dangling a carrot on another thread.

Was that a reply to the post above yours , I.e. the work being backdated to April 2022? Judging by reports from around the country about Mail backing up , it seems highly likely.

If they could make it a % backdated and consolidated that would be a start. Under £400 before tax for part timers is a piss take.

Re: how union could get us a better lump sum than £500
I suspect that an increased lump sum (if we get one offered) would have been budgeted for when the deal was announced.Jonno13 wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 16:34Heard the same this morning. Must be worried about a NO vote if their going to offer a bigger lump sum.

We have all been played for a while now due to us being pretty easy to predict.

And while they are trying to secure a yes vote they should push for the so called bonus to be across the board and not prorated.
