Re: How are you voting on the deal? (Vote inside)
I'm voting for the deal It's the best deal we are going to get given all the circumstances.
We are not going to get a better deal.
It would be utter madness to vote against our own CWU recommendations, and would make postal workers look stupid.
The dire consequences of a no vote would be Royal Mail going into administration, and a 110,000 postal workers being on the dole, many with mortages and hire purchase cars to pay for.
We should vote to accept the deal, and protect the interests of our families and dependents.
We are not going to get a better deal.

The changes ain't that bad considering the original proposal royal mail wanted. Think royal mail and the cwu have scored an own goal here!!

It was never going to keep up with inflation. 10% last year, 11% next year, whatever it the year after that….77SAMPOST77 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 19:35Utter nonsense , You will not be able to afford anything soon anyway if our wages do not keep with inflation ,jahbalon wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 19:27I'm voting for the deal It's the best deal we are going to get given all the circumstances.

VOTE NO .
How do Royal Mail find the money? Raise the costs of stamps and postage in general? That could lose business. Plus the energy bills and diesel are going up for Royal Mail as well. Shareholders protect their interests first. Sadly, we are run by shareholders.
This was the inevitable path the company was going to take once we sold out in 2012.

Where's your gratitude for the CWU getting us a good deal. 10% salary rise, £500 lump sum.
The agreement also includes a commitment to no compulsory redundancies and covers changes to sick pay, attendance standards, ill health retirement and revised contracts for new starters
A Yes Vote is a No Brainer for posties

If this deal is rejected and RM do enter administration, there WILL BE NO PAY RISE AT ALL. I understand the feelings being expressed but the consequences for RM and CWU of a no vote could be catastrophic. It could result in massive job losses and RM being sold off . The CWU would not exist. It is a massive gamble to vote no. There is no guarantee that the government will take it back into public ownership and keep the current staff and T&Cs. I am voting yes so that the union and the members exist to fight another time.

Vote for the crap deal and hope for a better one in the future, or RM might go bust.timbo1234 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023, 20:01If this deal is rejected and RM do enter administration, there WILL BE NO PAY RISE AT ALL. Such a pathetic argument, but the only one that the CWU have got. Because there's nothing good about the deal itself.
