Good lord, why do people keep comparing us to strikers in government funded industries? We work for a company that wants to squeeze every drop of profit from us they can.postslippete wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 08:38
Remind everyone that goes on strike whether it's sane to lose even more money?? Tell that to the junior doctors who are after a 35% pay rise or the nurses.
Some of us are not taken in by Royal Mails pathetic excuses about going into administration having just made record profits the year before. If people are bothered about money they should know that Royal Mails best and final offer that they made last year can and will be improved.
The devil will be in the detail but from experience you never just accept the first or even the second offer on the table

The Government has no money, it raises money through taxation or borrows money on our behalf which we also have to pay for.

I know how the economy works Milly!
Their union have set the bar high - our union probably didn't even know where to set the bar! They should have done it once the company made those record profits last year. We have been facing a ruthless employer for many years. One that has made more changes than any other employer in the last few years and everything they have done leads us towards the gig economy
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I'm glad you know how the economy works because I have asked this question numerous times on this forum and never received a satisfactory answer.postslippete wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 08:52I know how the economy works Milly!

Why after all this time would we vote ‘yes’ to a crap deal? Because we’re fed up? Because we can’t afford to strike anymore? This is exactly what Royal Mail want! It’s probably the same original deal but with a few minor changes……..if that’s the case it’ll be a big fat NO from me…..

Re: Negotiators agreement reached
That won’t be happening, in the draft agreement starting times will be up to 90 minutes later starting in March next year. You will get a finish time as there wasn’t a commit to deliver in the document. There will be minor adjustments as the disagreements were on sick pay and new entrants.Shirtbuttons wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 06:51Am I right in thinking the delivery staff will get shafted as usual? I don’t like the commit to deliver part. No matter the amount of work you will stay out and complete I’ve heard. Let’s hope that is incorrect.

Money is a unit of debt that a Central Bank can print out of thin air we the workers have to pay back through taxation.
This is how money is slowly stolen from you and poorer Countries.
Imagine having the power to create something out of nothing and forcing people to pay interest on it.
Our dispute is a symptom of this corrupt and dishonest monetary system.

Well, I prefer your more recent obsession with money to your previous one on immigrants. It has that going for it at least.milly wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 09:16Unless you know the root cause of the problem we will continue to be divided.LouBarlow wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 09:05The same direction milly takes every thread in.postslippete wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 09:00Money is essentially a medium of exchange that facilitates the transaction of goods and services.milly wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 08:56I'm glad you know how the economy works because I have asked this question numerous times on this forum and never received a satisfactory answer.postslippete wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 08:52I know how the economy works Milly!

Will we really have a definitive finish time though. Dress it up however with whatever name , enforced flexibility is taking your right to finish at your contracted time away. How can this be acceptable. With the revised walks becoming unachievable think of the daily stress and battle's with management that will inevitably arise. The union in my opinion have no right to agree on my behalf of enforced flexibility. As for the rest of the likely changes as we don't yet know for sure, the Titanic comes to mind.

Whatever “deal” is proposed and in all likelihood accepted, whatever the merits or otherwise, they will be back for more soon enough, there is already talk about revisions in the autumn.

Again you are trying to misinterpret my views I have never once criticised immigrants, I have merely said an oversupply of workers drives down wages which benefits the big businesses most of you purport to despise.LouBarlow wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 09:23Well, I prefer your more recent obsession with money to your previous one on immigrants. Unless you look at the bigger picture of the inequity of how money is created we are doomed to a life of servitude.
Using our monetary system the West has stolen resources from third world Countries by charging interest on our fake money and taking their valuable resources.
The are now pulling the same trick on us.

As far as I see it I have a year to prepare for the later starts coming in which will make it pointless doing this Job anymore for me anyway
Take the deal and accept the job is changing as the Union have agreed to it. Vote no and it comes in anyway probably quicker
These chest banging idiots that thinks it’s still owned by the government and still a public service can shout all they like we are never going back to the brilliant job this was over a decade ago
I know I sound defeatist but I have eyes and have seen the job degrade dramatically in recent times as I’m sure we all have
