Re: Deafening silence
The Treaty of Versailles didn't take as long as these talks. I get that negotiations take time and things are delicate and the union cant show their hands, we all do but it's the lack of knowing what is going on that is getting our backs up. The reps in our office when asked about updates just shrug us away and are more worried about their own duties not getting extra added on in their revisions never mind the rest of their unit than anything else. It really pisses you off to be honest!!!

Does anyone know what these reps have done or been accused of before we let them hang out to dry let's here some truths of what they've done its cowardly to let them be the scapegoats on any deal and there's a few on here would gladly give them up to achieve a deal

Re: Deafening silence
Reps suspended or dismissed have nothing to do with the dispute.
All we need to know is that they have breached the conduct code for whatever reason and now suspended until any allegation has been investigated.

Drivel as usual, of course it has to do with the dispute, most have been victimised as part of the dispute, the company want to de unionise the workplace, what part of that don’t you grasp? What they want is for no one to take the role of office Rep going forward, hence this treatment of them.

Re: Deafening silence
Hardly drivel
A rep is an employee bound by the same conduct code as everybody else
Why should they receive special treatment over a normal employee grade with issues of conduct?
That is discriminatory

I sure hope Royal Mail adequately compensate you for coming on here all hours of the day to parrot their propaganda.

Re: Deafening silence
How about debating the issue rather than personal insults?

Re: Deafening silence
You’re right they do deserve to be treated the same, and the facts are they are not, they are being victimised. Anyone who’s took time to look into why some of them have been suspended and the reasons will easily come to that conclusion.

There are probably agreements and NDAs that the union can't give updates on the talks. They're not going to give daily updates on what has and hasn't been discussed or agreed, and the fact that nothing is being said, if anything, is probably a good sign.
The company has certain things that they want to bring in and they will have costed them against the impact of strikes. There's just no way to negotiate against that but silence from the union doesn't mean that they're rolling over. If they were, they'd have come out weeks ago with an "offer". I don't think they've done anything to justify the people attacking them, who presumably think they should be saying "give us everything we want" and then calling a strike when they say no.

Re: Deafening silence
The union actually discussed some of them on LBC actually. One being letting off flares on the picket lines, which is a really stupid example to use to get people on your side. It's actually illegal to set them off in a public setting for anything but an emergency. And you did have numerous of CWU posts with people holding them on the picket lines. Hell, I'm sure people in comments at the time were warning them about it. It completely backfired on themmags999 wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023, 21:05Does anyone know what these reps have done or been accused of before we let them hang out to dry let's here some truths of what they've done its cowardly to let them be the scapegoats on any deal and there's a few on here would gladly give them up to achieve a deal![]()

Exactly.
He must be ignorant to the facts and the individual cases.
If anyone knew the detail of some of these cases there is no other conclusion.
The union cant let this happen.
It sets a precedent for the future.
Emboldening the bullying culture that royal mail have encouraged in some of these out of control managers.
