Lack of empathy on here is clearly astounding but then some posters have their own agenda.

This guy has clearly been fitted up. This is not an isolated incident ( I know a few personally) but has come to light as the guy posted on FB.

Over nearly 20 years in half a dozen different job roles /offices I've witnessed all kinds of bad, disrespectful behaviour from Managers and colleagues. After all the shop floor can be a pressure cooker sometimes. This behaviour was usually dealt with in a constructive way in a timely manner. Read, people got moved sideways, not left to rot.

To leave someone to rot not knowing their fate is one of the worst things you can do to someone. Especially someone already dealing with some very deep personal issues.

So get a grip you wind up merchants and have some respect. Not naming names but you know who you are. If I was admin I'd ban you as this is common trolling behaviour and you're just after a reaction. Very sad. You should be ashamed.
How has he clearly been fitted up which bit? It sounds like he has treated a colleague badly and used personal excuses to excuse it. if he has done it then good riddance
He 'disrespected' someone and has been left to rot. 5 months he's been left. 2 occasions of contact from management. Criminals in the justice system are treated better.

Have you even read what I've written above? Try again. It's bloody obvious to anyone with half a brain. Or are you someone that just lacks empathy because you've never been in a situation where you've been left to rot.... maybe.
'disrespect' is a very vague term. that could be a number of things from a name called to straight up bullying.. let them go through the independan process and if found guilty then good bye . being left to rot lol im sure hes still being paid. he has no right to disrespect someone just because hes having personal issues.
And you've never witnessed disrespect in the workplace before?

How about disrespect on an internet forum?

You have a very distinctive posting style that reminds me of one of those self interested turds on the lse chat forum...... which one is that? B&H or disrespect.

Bullying and harrasement are clearly defined terms. If you'd been the victim of either then you'd know.

Not exactly left to rot as he is still being paid a full wage when suspended, so no financial hardship unlike those forced to cross a picket line.

Some of us still remember the Burslem dispute with allegations of bullying from reps.

What happened to the reps and staff with that dispute?
Lack of empathy once again truly astounding :Applause

Lack of empathy or the truth and objectivity?

If he is guilty of bullying empathy plays no part except for the victim. Bullies deserve everything they get

Whatever you say, however you try to justify it (to others or to yourself), if you are a scab then the vast majority of the workforce will have little to no respect for you and that is something you will have to suck up and deal with.

So come on here and whine all you like, but if this is you then you are probably better served by spending your time looking for supplementary work.
Bloody hell, if that's the majority of the workforce mindset then this business is better off dead. To come on here telling people to "suck it up" despite not even knowing their own circumstances, but yet be the first to bitch and moan about management's bullying is hypocrisy. You can guarantee people would be up in arms if a manager went and degraded someone like that, so would not be any different to your own work colleague. I respect those that fight for works rights, what I don't respect are people that use this as an excuse to segregate people because they can't strike. It will never be me, will never subject myself to high school bully tactics. That will never win people over or this dispute for that matter.

Yeah but it's not the only instance on here with you is it Len? Your lack of empathy disguised as impartiality. You admit that you're not on delivery so have no experience of being on the shop floor with colleagues showing disrespect to one another sometimes on a day to day basis. That is usually dealt with swiftly in a timely manner. If you'd ever witnessed this then you'd know.

In this instance it hasn't. 5 months sat at home not knowing the outcome of whatever he's said or done, so yes I'd say that's left to rot. In your opinion it isn't in which case I'd say you have a lack of empathy. Clear enough for you?

As I said. Criminals in the justice system are treated better.

You are jumping to conclusions

Just because I am no longer in delivery does not mean have never done that job or even been a rep in my past.

And with Covid the average wait to be convicted in court was two years, so criminals were not treated any different

I've concluded you have a lack of empathy from your posts. Not from your job title.

The covid excuse eh? You'll be rolling out the war and cost of living crisis next. RM are not the criminal justice system so your comparison on time frames is moot. Made me chuckle though. Have you considered a career in politics?

So we don't know what he said or did or how remorseful he is. We don't even know the impact on the person he treated with contempt and made to feel like dirt...

2 wrongs don't make a right!

Apologise seriously and make amends to that person; then hope for the best.

We all have problems but lashing out is not the answer.

People need to look at the bigger picture and ask themselves why Trade Union membership is at its lowest level and having to merge to survive with other Trade Unions?

Companies need Trade Unions more than ever with evolving draconian laws in a globalized society for protection but? The population has now moved on from 1970s thinking. Gone are the days of mass employee unionised industries with father goes out to work and mother looks after the two kids at home.

Both parents now have to work to keep a roof over their heads.

Trade Unions have to adapt, you convince people not to cross a picket line with education, not threats and intimidation and encourage them to look at the positives of membership. All this Sausage chips and beans nonsense is virtually extinct now because of the Miners strike and Thatcher.

If trade unions fail to adapt, they will also become extinct.

So you will continue to give the company ammunition for union to be put on blast if asked about the disciplinary cases then if potentially we go back on strikes then? Gotcha :d'oh!

This is why I have no problem being a strike breaker. The picket line militants who blank people or insult them or whatever else are not my brothers. Like you said they don’t know the reasons why people choose to go to work but they judge and insult anyway.
They don’t care about the mental health element that may affect strike breakers so I genuinely couldn’t care about their views.
But when one of their ‘own’ is suspended for alleged bullying they all shout ‘solidarity!’
It’s hypocrisy and it’s comical.

My point being we don't give them instances where we are seen as hostile on neither the picket line nor the workplace no matter whether you respect the guys or not. Do you storm up to some dickhead giving you grief on the picket line or do you ignore them and continue your protest? Same principles apply here. If the union actually give a s**t on what the public and press think (which I'm 100% certain they do as demonstrated in their interviews), they would condone any instances of bullying and harassment whether its douchebag management or schoolboy postman.
