Cutting the job up, abusing the sick
Angard staff get jumped on while managers walk past regular staff texting one their phones and just standing about gossiping
Not my job to do that mentality

It is all about productivity and work all paid hours

If a % of regular staff refrained from skiving dragging everybody else down, reliance on agency as a cost negative would diminished filling that vacuum.

Like the vast majority of my colleagues I work all the hours I'm paid, and we always have.

As for productivity, in our revision the duty I cover was increased by 35%.
But this has made me less productive and the business less productive;
I now have to cut off for all special deliveries;
and because I have to prioritise parcels, I drive passed hundreds of houses that I could be delivering letters to but instead I deliver a couple of dozen packets and parcels.

You actually don't but I guess you are maybe like me and just do it because the com has told you and at the end of the day it doesnt matter to me as I finish at my finish time and go home.

Very inefficient I agree, today I brought back loops that I maybe could have done if it wasn't for branching off to do the Tracked on the other loops ( off the other paired duty that stayed in...again!)

Manager said we had to prioritise packets and parcels because of health & safety concerns in our office!!!!!

For 3 or 4 years before this we were told to prioritise packets and parcels because we were now a parcel company.

Health and Safety suddenly became an issue with ST and his performance at the parliamentary committee.

It’s an absolute waste of time striking again to be honest we are going down anyway, who really wants to lose more money? Whilst we like to think we work the hardest is there any real evidence we work harder than Amazon or DPD delivery drivers? You do sense the employers abusing sickness pay have created issues with that aspect of our T&C's, with the minority most likely ruining it for the genuine majority.

Have you actually tried delivering parcels for 7 hours, you are hardly in the warm van as you are continually in and out of the van delivering parcels, there's plenty of postie's around who'd sooner stick to an HTC round than deliver parcels in a van. In fact virtually nobody is interested in doing the LATs in our local DO's.

Every single person that did the parcel duties when they got separated in a revision said that the difference in how tired you are was like night and day.

The parcel duties were way easier than walking around the streets.

That came from those that did it and when they then took those parcel duties out , those that had them were gutted.

I know of no postman/woman still with the sense God gave them, that would have done what various RM boards have done to our jobs in the last 20 odd years.
