I think a lot and I mean a lot of people will leave the union if they give in to some shite RM offer, what would be the point in staying with them……I will stop my subs for sure :wave

Based on the fact a tonne of the changes are coming in and the union are doing nothing about it - I now hope for at least a 9% backdated to April pay rise.

My aim now is to leave the company within 2 years. For now I still enjoy the job, but I am not expecting it to continue that way. Management in general are scum. Most posties are good people.

The amount of selfishness, lack of common sense, disregard for staff safety, lies and deceit that line managers through to doms, through to the management at the top of the business, is sickening.


and I call bull**** on people stopping their subs to the union when Royal Mail management will soon pummel you for not clearing your extra large round.

I refuse to work overtime, I prioritise tracked as instructed, I do about 40% less steps a day compared to before them removing my duty. If I get a payrise brilliant if I don’t I’ve already budgeted for my current wage.

Just a quick question, how do you leave the union? Do you have to phone them up? Or can you do it via email?
You can call HR. They can do it their end.

Phone HR tell them to stop union payment. Job done. I’d just say my unit rep has been outstanding standing up for us but even he feels let down with no help or direction from above. Always participated in any strike action, never ever crossed a picket line, never ever started before my time but I’ve come to realise with RM standing alone probably getting shafted (without lube) is on the cards. So if I get anything from the deal of the century….. Great…. But I expect nothing and will carry on quietly quitting and enjoying my time off because no matter what hours I’m working it’ll only add up to 37 a week.

True . I have spoken to work colleagues in my MC and they are saying the same thing . If we get sold down the river after showing such great support that's it .

Thanks for the reply and to filthybloke too. The only reason i'm asking, is because i'm probably going to be leaving within the next few weeks and i don't see the point in paying into it now because of that.

You have just summed it all up perfectly. We are always left in the dark. I don’t expect minute by minute updates of the talks but a brief statement at the end of each day is the least we deserve, we are paying the hugeee wages of these enlightened pr**s at the top of the union after all.
The way the union frame these talks is bloody hilarious aswell, as if they are going into that room to negotiate the end to the war in Ukraine and how to limit climate change or something. It isn’t that complicated at all, they have a huge mandate for strike action behind them and it’s taken them almost a year to get absolutely f***ing nowhere.

Nothing will come out until Tuesday at the earliest.

Negotiations end today
PEC will cast their eyes on it Monday
All being well an announcement Tuesday.

This lack of communication between the CWU and its members will be seen as a massive opportunity for Royal Mail to instruct its managers to push even harder and ram through executive action, fill your boots team....
