CWU need to act and quickly, they aren’t stopping revisions and quite frankly RM are taking the union for a ride…..sixfoottwo wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 20:12Yep, surely Ward and his cronies need to step in here it's happening nationwide.

What was the point in making a announcement that means absolutely nothing. Leeds MC hasn't implemented it's revision yet but is still ploughing ahead and intends to carry on regardless of the so called halt. WHAT A JOKE. SORT IT OUT DAVE.

Then you need a strong local rep to put in a disagreement to challenge what’s been doneThis may indicate the Unit is understaffed. IF You are short of staff they will need to be recruited. IF your staffing levels are OK then perhaps some work needs moving from those failing duties to those that may still be finishing early. If no duties are in fact finishing early then maybe you need another duty put in (with that extra Postie). I'm sure Managers will fight that option tooth & nail.

Last week we also had a few duties in the section that failed on a daily basis so its obvious to me that the number of rounds they are looking to get rid of are far too many. If the only way to get the revisions covered now is through overtime then its an obvious red flag that the USO is going to fall flat on its ar$e in the future.
The Union will be sweet-talked into RM's accounts that likely present a blacker picture than has been painted. Don't forget that they have poured billions into these parcel super hubs so that they can be even more profitable in the future - they are desperate for the new ways of working around them. The CWU will suggest that this pay deal is the best one on the table that protects its members etc etc And what of the pay deal? Well, if its a below inflation pay deal with increased workloads and later start and finish times, then on the face of it really is not the best deal for us. We might be a privatised company but the fireman have just secured a 12% pay rise and they are not being asked to put more fires out in the day. The NHS, ambulance and teachers are all after pay rises but they are not accepting a pay rise in return for extra workloads - because they are already understaffed.
Just because the workload drops off just like every time it does after Xmas; doesn't mean that it won't pick up again. But the biggest concern I have regarding all that extra walking that we are doing is when I look around most posties are not in their early 20s. Walking half marathons every day simply takes its toll on the body and staff are going to need time to recover. Are the Union also going to concede on the sick pay as well?
One solution that might pacify some of the members is that we work less days in the week and therefore have more time to recover. Unfortunately, on longer outdoor spans this would only mean later finishes. Obviously, that might put some of those who have childcare responsibilities in a bit of limbo but I struggle to see what are the alternatives? We are not going to get a no change deal. That just doesn't happen in Royal Mail and these revisions are something that was previously agreed with the Union in the last agreement. Above all what we badly need is some common sense regarding these changes whilst still keeping the workforce motivated.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

The firemens deal is not above inflation its spread over 2 years if i recall correctly. There has to be some compromise from the cwu though it can't and wont all go there waypostslippete wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 21:16Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 17:30As explained to me: If the same Duties are regularly not being completed/delivered then they are failing the USO.roman wrote: ↑05 Mar 2023, 11:44How do they determine if the u s o is working or not ? Our office revision is going ahead in two weeks time as planned. We was told in a huddle this morning not to believe what you read on royal mail chat about revisions being suspended. The dom and union rep were in agreement about this.

Yeah I know, but it is 12%. The CWU have only offered us 9% and we don't know if it's fully backdated
Afaik they also aren't cutting back on the number of fireman or asking them to do more work. I'm also concerned that Royal mail seem to be pricing the letter and itself out of existence

So what was D.Ward speaking about in the last video? Didn't your rep watch that video?arsenalbob wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 21:41Our office revision is going ahead in two weeks time as planned. Its not revisions that are to be suspended, but unagreed revisions so I guess your rep has already agreed to itarsenalbob wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 21:41Our office revision is going ahead in two weeks time as planned. Was under the impression that all of the current revisions/changes were unagreed ? A lesser band of revisions to save less hours could have worked, but they wouldn't settle for that. Heard rumours that DPR routes were being looked at, not as good as RM hoped, maybe scrapping them ? Can see a poorer pay deal, maybe tweak the duties, but that's about it I'm afraid.

There was no agreement from the rep. The rep was simply told a few weeks back 'THIS IS COMING IN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT - YOU HAVE NO SAY ON THE MATTER'.
The office management have no say either - they have been told to bring it in or face the sack.
So, based on the joint statement you would now expect the union rep in each office to say - 'I have a say now, Royal Mail and the Union have agreed to halt revisions and let me have a say on what can be changed'...... but this isn't happening. Our rep is complicit with going along with the changes even though he's admitted the changes won't abide by the USO. Walks won't be able to be completed.
Why the rep is letting changes come in - I don't know! The reps should be standing up for us!
