Poor Royal Mail I'm glad we are getting our forced revision this week with 600 extra drops!
I'm more than happy to walk 6 hours a day after nearly 29 years of purely being on delivery in fact if I end up in a wheel chair to line the boards pockets and pay more special dividends then bring it on.
Are these still on the cards as part of win the ballot win the dispute agenda ?
Just asking for myself and a.few friends and colleagues.
It's a serious question.
That is dead in the water now. They've got their strings pushed through already with these revisions, clock in and out, redundancies (whether it's compulsory or voluntary) and some units are possibly going to have to change start and finish times. It would be a sham if union dressed it up as a no strings deal if they do come to an agreement the end of the week. Both sides have lost, some just don't know it yet. Lost the good will of workforce that's for sure. The fact that you are even asking this question you are more than likely realising that subconsciously.
Don't forget that there's the Network Review in the Autumn which could well result in EVERY office both MCs and DOs starting and finishing later
All revisions will go through ,
The CWU have made a big mistake in trying to tell a private company how to run there Business ,
They should have just stuck with the pay rise bit .
The best we can hope for now is a 7% pay rise backdated ,
Let royal mail make there own mistakes re revisions and slave labour owner drivers that are dragging the company down to poor quality of service like EVRI AND YODEL .
Just turn up for work on time (not early) do your hours take your breaks and go home on time ,
if the revisions are not working that is a managers problem .
What happens when the B&H starts on a regular basis, questioning your indoor and outdoor performance?
Data collated giving indoor prep times being stuck on main board ( so everyone can see ) even though it’s not meant to be used as a performance tool ( which it is ) because people are being took in office and questioned. Long gone are the days of “ well come out and test me and the walk..” that stopped years ago when they realised a majority of walks were unachievable then let alone now. Now it’s all forecasted BS… and they won’t listen to anything else except there doctored forecasts.
We’re on our second revision in less than 18months ( we’re a pilot office ) most haven’t had one yet and trust me when I say it nothing has come out of either of them positively.
We’ve lost 35 staff since the first revision started !

Almost all units had a revision pre November 2021. So.e were postponed til afterwards, but would be surprised if anyone in country hasn't been through a revision of some description in a delivery office in last 18 months.
There's no much chance of an above inflation pay rise, maybe a headline figure that's not backdated and changes are coming whether we like them or not, it's up to the CWU to mitigate the changes as much as they can especially for existing employees.
New employees, who don't work there yet will be offered worse terms and it will be up to them to accept it or not but if the company wants to have a good reputation they can't be too harsh or good people won't stay long.
Serious financial hardship! So happy to lie for Royal Mail after previously uncovering the truth of giving all the profits away in dividends, then that triggered huge bonuses and the stopping of the GLS cross subsidy!
They aren’t lying for anyone. Giving away millions in the past, doesn’t change the fact that that money is now gone. The reality is, the company is in the s**t because of the lack of mail and increasing costs. If you think we are as busy now as we were back in 2020 which lead to those dividend payouts, then we will just have to agree to disagree.
Maybe we are not as busy as we were back in 2020 but that is not why the company are in the s**t. The company careered on a path of self-destruction with thousands of under-utilised and overpaid agency workers, higher paid COMs and bonuses and everything else that RM have done to put this company in the doldrums. RM flushed money down the toilet and now its gone.
The reality is that its now up to the lowest people on the food chain to try and save the company from ruin by walking extra miles and delivering even more parcels than they were before.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Is that really the trade union way?
Why would the new employees bother with the union if the union can't be bothered with them?
No new recruits means dwindling funds and the demise of the union.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Agency workers are not overpaid, they get exactly the same pay as regular staff

That's the way it's been going for years now, the public sector and privatised companies are still trying to hold out but the trend is inevitable.

Plus agency fees. According to our COM the agency have had to take a hit to their pay this month as they now (as of March 1st) get what we get before the agency takes a cut, whereas beforehand it was set up that they'd get what we do (except on hard to staff days, Sundays and holidays etc) and RM would pay the agency on top

I started 20 months ago and my terms are considerably worse than people who started a year or two before me. I've only been eligible for sick pay for 2 months (they tell you it's a year, then change it to "a year after your permanent contract starts"), have to work 1 in 3 Sundays, have a clause in the small print that states RM can move my start/finish times with less than 24 hours notice (we have at least 3 newish people who regularly get told at 1pm via text that they're scheduled on 12-6 the next day)....
The CWU haven't cared about the future of the staff for some time

Table top revisions maybe, but full revisions I doubt it.
