Archive film missing
]Hi I am hoping one of you mail centre guys can help me. I sent a parcel Tracked24 from London to Newcastle. It was a historical film about steam locomotives for preservation. There were two cans in the parcel and when it arrived one was missing and the parcel was repackaged in a RM envelope. Can you tell me what would happen to the missing film. Where would it go and how can I get it back? It went through Jubilee MC and Tyneside MC.

Contact Royal Mail directly (we aren't RM) Give the call handler as many details as possible.
They will enter all of it into a Database.
When parcels can't be delivered, or items get separated, then it is sent to a specific section within the Business called the National Returns Centre.
They investigate matters like this and with all the details given will try to return, or forward it on to the recipient.
Good luck.

Thanks TrueBlueTerrier
I have reported it, put in a claim, contacted everyone in Royal Mail I can but still no progress. Its 10 days now. RM are extremely difficult to contact, none of the phone numbers work. I have even written letters to the Mail Centres. Is there a way to contact the National Returns Centre?

Re: Archive film missing
In practice, you contact the NRC by completing the list or damaged parcels form, online or on paper (P58inland).
Nitro-Cellulose film, which apparently was used into the 1950s, is on RM’s prohibited list. So hopefully that isn’t what you sent?

No its not Nitro its made with Kodak Safety film which was Acetate. I have had no help from anyone at all to retrieve this irreplaceable film except the postings on this forum. I have had a really poor official response from Royal Mail in fact no response at all. It looks like the film may be lost for ever.
