Hi all. I have recently made a Click & Drop account and wondered what I should expect from it as I don’t know anyone who uses this service. Is it reliable to send things using this method. I normally hand write my addresses and head to a post office however since the cyber attack and not being able to post internationally at a PO I was looking at posting internationally online instead to see if it fared any better plus it will be easier to post from home.
I got confused however as it seems I have 2 C&D accounts. One is with business.parcel.royalmail.com and the other is just for the Royal Mail site, not even sure what the differences are but I’m just using the main site for now.
I do have a few questions however. I can’t post tracked 24 and 48 items to a post office, but I can have them collected which is what I’d go for. Could I also post these in any post box too as in a standard post box which accepts letters and not a parcel one?
Also how do I go about getting proof of postage as this is what’s confusing me. Do I scan a photo of the barcode or QR code on the app before posting and then tracking updates as it’s scanned through the network or don’t I get any proof of postage? It’s all confusing for me so any help appreciated !
Also curious about what the best printer would be to use for printing the labels or what printers you use, thanks again

Re: Click & Drop question
This probably isn't the right place to ask this but I hope to help a little.
- C&D is a reliable method
- You can post directly into a postbox one the label is on the package
- You don't get proof of postage. You get a tracking number which is superior to Proof of Postage.
- The two accounts - one for personal customers, one for business. Sounds like you have a personal account only. If you start posting in volume, get a business account otherwise stick with what you have.
