Stolen Parcel
I posted a parcel Special Delivery 1PM from London to Ruislip. This morning, upon waking up, I noticed that the parcel was marked as delivered at 5AM in the morning. Here is the log:
Tuesday 07 February 2023
05:41
Delivered and Signed
Ruislip DO
05:39
Arrived at
Ruislip DO
00:02
Item Despatched to Ruislip DO
Greenford MC
Monday 06 February 2023
15:10
Item received at
London Central MC
10:43
Accepted at Post Office
Sunday 05 February 2023
21:45
Item Despatched to Greenford MC
London Central MC
Anyone have any clues what exactly is going on? Royal Mail tel service reassured me that the parcel would be delivered, but so far nothing has happened, whilst they are not sure where the parcel is. What am I supposed to do now? The most alarming part is that in the signature the emloyee added the name of the place it was due to be delivered.

Re: Stolen Parcel
I don't think that the title Stolen Parcel would be completely accurate.
Could this be a passport or something to a large organisation with a business address or maybe a PO Box, something like that ?
More likely the post-person was arranging your item ready for a bulk delivery.

Re: Stolen Parcel
Interesting. All I know is that I paid £12,00 for 1PM delivery with tracking - that's the reason why I used Special Delivery. Isn't it a bit dodgy that the parcel is marked as delivered at 05:40am? Even if it was a bulk delivery, the recepient has not received the parcel yet. Hence why I am confused about its status - was it stolen? It's definitely disappeared.

Re: Stolen Parcel
You need to contact Royal Mail because they will know who scanned it and where they were when they did it.
It would be stupid to scan a parcel you intended to steal.

Re: Stolen Parcel
Perhaps "missing parcel" would be a better title as you have no evidence that it was stolen. For the record, if it has been stolen there will be proof in the GPS location and the person signed into the PDA as to when and where it vanished - if someone wanted to steal it they could have just taken it rather than mark it as delivered.
BenacreNick has asked a valid question about what sort of place it was being sent to. It is possible that it is part of a bulk delivery that may be hundreds of items and the recipient hasn't opened the item yet, so cannot say they have received it. Maybe if you gave an idea of where it was sent to, or even the reference number (it won't identify you) then someone may be able to offer more help.
But asking for help from people while at the same time making an accusation of theft isn't the best way to get a reply.

Re: Stolen Parcel
Three of my parcels have mysteriously vanished in the past month from different MC across London. I am pretty sure that this is not coincidental. Other reports indicate similar problems with deliveries. Hence why I am not changing the title. I believe my parcel was stolen.

Bloody fast postman if the item arrived at the DO at 05:39 and was delivered 05:41

Re: Stolen Parcel
What type of business was it going to? If they receive a load of stuff in a direct delivery, they might not have booked whatever it is into their own system yet

Re: Stolen Parcel
I think that means that your item was 'delivered' to the delivery office, and the next scan should be delivery to the customer?
So the problem is to do with a confusing choice of wording, it would be better if it said received at delivery office?

Re: Stolen Parcel
We'd be able to advise better if he gave the information asked, or the tracking number to view the up-to-date data. But he hasn't and we can't therefore help.

Re: Stolen Parcel
It was not delivered to the customer. Hence why I don't know what is going on! I paid for Special Delivery to the customer, not the DO!Nildesperandum wrote: ↑08 Feb 2023, 12:08I think that means that your item was 'delivered' to the delivery office, and the next scan should be delivery to the customer?

Re: Stolen Parcel
Then complain to Royal Mail directly. You have still ignored the requests for more details of what sort of company/organisation you have sent this to. You have been told that the place it was sent to may have an agreement with RM about how the item is delivered, which would overrule you wanting it delivered to the customer.
Do you actually want anyone to help with this matter?
