Please advise if you have international tracked mail to IRE/EU

Hi All, on the 11th i sent some extremely important and time-limited documents to Dublin via Post Office International Tracked. They are stuck in the cyber attack and I've been advised it will be at Heathrow and there is no way i can go down there and retrieve them (which i'd be happy to do). I'm starting to panic that RM will not sort this for the foreseeable future. Has anyone else had any similar mail reach its destination or can provide advice? Also would it be a totally lost cause going to the depot and trying to get it back myself? I'm so disappointed in RM through this i'll never use them again. 21 days and no tracking update. thanks Marcus

I believe that Royal Mail advised that while things were able to be posted now. That customers tracking information may be incorrect.
So, they may not be stuck as your info says.

Regarding going down to the depot:

1. Mail centres don’t take personal callers. Some may have a delivery office on the same site which serves the public, but that is quite a different thing.

2. If Royal Mail did let you in to search for you item it would be a breach of their licence to operate.

3. There are likely to be millions of items in there. This is not an exaggeration. There is next to no chance of locating an item if one person spent all day there.

4. If the international mail is now going outward again, then finding it also becomes an attempt to hit a moving target.

Hi folks thanks yes it seems like once the post is in the system its not possible or legal to get it out again and i'll just have to wait fingers crossed. The calamity is not helped by RM's customer services who say there is a point at which the mail is declared 'lost' in the same response! Which for me will be 7th Feb. So there must be a lot of parcels which are technically considered 'lost' now, as i think 25 working days was the limit. The trust in RM is their USP and that will have gone for a lot of people because of this.

If i have to read this again from RM i might actually lose it. It means absolutely nothing. It could mean 1 letter to France or 1, 000,000 letters all around the world:
'We continue to make progress in exporting an increasing number of items to a growing number of international destinations'.
