A theoretical package seizure question regarding cannabis

Post by theranicalisms »

I have a theoretical question regarding cannabis in packages.

If I (theoretically) asked my friend for some of his cannabis (as a joke) and he decided it to send it to me without my permission, what would be the consequences if said imaginary package was seized by Royal Mail? The theoretical amount would legally fall under a recreational amount, so enough for a pink slip if I was theoretically seen using it by a law abiding citizen who would then report it to a member of the police, but would this be passed onto the police if it were real?

Thanks.
Apologies if this violates this forums rules.

If Royal Mail found it it would be seized and passed to the local Police force, and they would probably prosecute no matter the amount as IIRC sending it through the mail is counted as distribution. Even if it's not counted as distribution it is illegal to send cannabis through the post whatever the amount.
