Re: Royal Mail do not track staff-yeah right
Does this Medway Office have their 40 mins meal relief before they go out or is the 1 hour showing they have stopped 20 mins more.
Also it is only 3 people that did an hour so why tar everyone with the same brush.
We have COM's that come in an hour late and leave an hour early

The same goes for bosses who expect you to do more than is possible, the days of slavery ended long time ago,FilthyBloke wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 18:27I don’t see the problem in calling staff out who are taking one too many breaks.
I know of a van share couple and one is always moaning because the other colleague is forever popping into peoples houses for a tea.
I have heard of some posties going home for a couple of hours. I have actually seen post vans going round the block in circles just trying to kill time.
Imagine if you paid someone to paint your fence and they charged you for 10 hours but on cctv you can see them dragging their heels or going shopping or sitting around doing nothing. You would call them out on it. I would anyway.
The days of being a postie and doing half a shift are coming to an end. If you think you can find a job where you can meander about doing the bare minimum then you should apply for it. Big brother is coming to an office near you.

Re: Royal Mail do not track staff-yeah right
Got a point but it has to be innocent until proved otherwise. Our guy was taking minutes off our overtime without asking why we we stopped. Could have been in traffic, level crossing or anything. Didn't even ask, which caused a shed load of stress every Thursday morning when you saw your wage slip. This was 2 yrs ago too!FilthyBloke wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 18:27I don’t see the problem in calling staff out who are taking one too many breaks.

That was my day today (8hours). Manager told us a couple of days ago that if you were working your day off (as I was), meal relief wouldn’t be paid, time would be deducted.rambo1 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 21:57Anyone who's day is over 7 hrs I believe. It's plain bullying.
"Don't get caught"
Doing what? Going to the toilet? Stopping a few times to rest a few minutes? Waiting for your van share partner as their loop took 5 minutes longer that day?

How long is too long? An hour probably is but 5 minutes you could be waiting for your van partner while he’s tackling some of the freshly added oversized parcels.

Of course. So just work to your time. Do everything you should do at the best of your ability. Vancheck. Lunch. Use a lwt. Make sure your junk mail is in the fitting before you bag up.guardianangel wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 20:52The same goes for bosses who expect you to do more than is possible, the days of slavery ended long time ago,FilthyBloke wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 18:27I don’t see the problem in calling staff out who are taking one too many breaks.

Make sure your colleague isn’t waiting for you in the van. If he’s waiting 5 minutes a loop then that’s 40 minutes a shift. Get out the van and give your colleague a hand. Teamwork.
If management want to know why you keep cutting off its best you have no ammunition for them.
There was a van share a while back and the driver would rush around all morning and actually have his break before the other guy even started. That meant either he ended up with two breaks or the later chap didn’t get any.
We are being watched all the time. Do something that might get you into trouble and well, you might get into trouble.
If you find yourself waiting around for your colleague or in the office with nothing to do then give somebody a hand. Solidarity isn’t just for the picket line.

That's bxxlocks mate, doesn't matter if it's your day off or not, you get the appropriate paid meal relief for the length of time you work.Barnacle wrote: ↑20 Jan 2023, 22:59That was my day today (8hours). Nicely said. Whenever I had someone filling in for my partner (who shared the work with me really well, we were a good team ; hate that word since Slymon started using it), they would say, 'i Don't need a trolley I'll just carry the bag ' I used to say, are you sure coz you've got two!FilthyBloke wrote: ↑21 Jan 2023, 08:10Of course.
