No it isn't, it is just as bad if not worse. We often talk about doing to job properly, and that works both ways. I go in on my time, I take 15 minutes before I go out to have a coffee and then go out. If I have time I do the lapsing, and will happily go back out if get I get back early. There's a hard-core at my office that will flatly refuse to do any lapsing or complete a duty despite having ample time on their (very easy) duties to do so. Problem is we all then get put in that bracket and the sledge hammer to crack a nut approach happens like what is happening now. Like the sick pay, they want to take it away currently because it is taken advantage of by a minority who cost the business a fortune. As a result, we all suffer.

Who controls how they manage the workload to suit their own needs ?
