Cwu where are you 13 walks going

This week in our section, 4 walks have been cut out of 25 and everyone expected to take, it works out at a loop per walk apart from a certain walk where new builds are next to it and has had 2-2.15 hrs dumped on it!! I cover said walk and it’s now the biggest in the office by far, it’s just terrible lazy management! There’s a couple of rurals and their loop is the other side of the postcode so once they’ve done that it’s about a 40 minute drive to their duty!

Just say no. Lapsing is a mug’s game.

You can’t say no. It’s their future plan. Those loops from a lapsed walk are going to be made part of your walk permanently.

You currently have a finish time so you can say no.we were told we'd have to just absorb lapsing,smiles all round , it doesn't get done

In all honestly we can't make it work anyway . Our new resign has astonishingly left out an entire work area . It will be completely unstaffed . When the resign starts it's going to be quite interesting to see what happens .

Do they seriously think it is efficient to have two people doing two walks together as usual, and then having a third person deliver the oversize, along a route you were driving along anyway? Unless they are imagining massive growth in oversize parcels can’t see that happening in the next couple of years.

They have told us to do the lapse but first and cut off on your walk if you have to and not the absorption. Then the next day cut off on a different loop. It’s ridiculous.

then you have letter boxes at the bottom of doors which absolutely suck the life from your body to deliver to. There's one where I go up quite a few steps and then have to post through a low letter box, when I rise back up from that I have to take a moment to recover.

We should be able to refuse to deliver to any low letter boxes. Customers should have suitable 21st Century letter boxes which fit A4 letters and are at least 4 feet from the ground. Accumulatively throughout the country it would save a lot of time on delivery and injuries.

Xmas is the worst time of year when people have the tiny letterboxes from year 1915, having to knock to hand people their xmas cards.

I don’t deliver to low letter boxes. I knock on the door and if no answer I leave a 739card explaining that their letterbox is inadequate. A few people have moaned in the past but now most of them either have a box or they know they get it when rota man delivers.

As for small, tiny 1915 letterboxes I knock the door again and if not in I 739 every item, including junk. You are not meant to bend anything so I don’t.

So I'll ask the obvious question, you dont deliver to low letterboxes and if they don't answer the door you write out a 739 card, what do you do with the 739 once you've written it out? do you bend down and deliver it through the low letterbox?

Why do people like to open their doors when their dogs right by the door barking its head off. I do not understand people.

I have one property with 'Beware of the dog' on the gate.... you go and knock on their door with a parcel and they open the door with a large dog barking in your face. Perfectly nice family, but WTF! The dog won't bite you, but why can't these people work out that it is intimidating and can be extremely scary for some people.

I was working with someone else once, sent them to that house with a parcel and he shat himself when they opened the door. Forgot to tell him about those idiots.

Another thing is they replaced their door a year ago with a door with a low letter box - which again shows their inconsideration for delivery people.

I don’t think they ever consider efficiency. Here they seriously attempted to put 2 rurals as a park and loop. There would’ve been absolutely minimal time saving, maybe a few seconds while your van partner jumps out to deliver to the farmhouse while you turn around. I worked it out 2 X 4.5 hour rurals would become a near 8 hour park and loop round.

Fortunately (for now) they aren’t pursuing with it.

I've always wondered why people with dogs don't have a postbox installed outside their home, especially for small parcels. You could have the postbox connected to WiFi and it could notify you on your phone when you have a parcel. In fact, even for non dog owners, it's a good idea, since amazon and dpd just tend to knock and run and don't give you a chance to open the door
