I think the way subs is collected from pay is going to change it will be up to the individual to pay the subs rather than deducted from pay

Collecting subs if RM want to get akward is quite easy. The CWU send every member a Direct Debit Mandate and you fill it in just like you do for countless other bills, no great drama there.
