No update on delayed Special Delivery

Post by jiggly35 »

Good morning,

I hope someone on the board can help me!

I posted out an item I sold on eBay via Special Delivery by 1pm on Saturday the 26th from the Post Office in Bath. I understand that because of the strikes and usual Christmas rush things are being delayed but it’s now been a week and the tracking (VE726987069GB) still states ‘Sender preparing item’ does that mean it’s still at the PO?

If anyone can provide more detailed tracking or just shed a bit more light on the situation I’m be exceptionally grateful!

Thank you and Merry Christmas

In this context, “sender preparing item” is the Post Office declaring that they have handed it over to Royal Mail.

that should have had an MC scan by now even if its running late.

My advice is to contact an official Royal Mail service, perhaps twitter @royalmailhelp. The have access to more information than we do on this site.

You should be able to claim the postage back, even if it is delivered eventually.

Until it gets a scan somewhere, there's no way to know where it is in the system. If it's ended up in with the normal packets, it could potentially have already made it to the DO. SD items are meant to be processed separate from normal items and go in separate bags/containers
